Friday morning tropical update: Hilary nears California, 4 systems in Atlantic.

The tropics are looking like mid August with the NHC tracking four separate systems in the Atlantic. The only one that could bring us weather through the next seven days is currently sitting near Turks and Caicos. The system will head to South Florida through Saturday, enhancing the chance for rain for the sunshine state.

By Sunday and Monday, the tropical wave will travel west through the Gulf of Mexico. This is when it could try to organize some as it sits under lower wind shear and the very warm Gulf waters. At the moment, models still aren't very aggressive with strengthening the system, but it at least has a chance to strengthen some. Dry air and dust could help limit how quickly the system comes together. If the system were to bring rain to South Louisiana, that would happen Monday, but right now, it's still up in the air if it will be close enough to send the rain. It still remains possible the disturbance passes just far enough south that we miss any big chance for rain. By Tuesday, the system will move into Texas taking most rain with it. We will continue to monitor and you should too. Checking in a couple times this weekend to see if there have been any changes in the forecast.

the federal government tapped Californias economy to help.
