Apple and samsung do not source cores directly from ARM. They have a license and design their own custom cores

Some info in the video was incorrect. The issue arises from Nuvia's licence (under ARM) for the tech behind the development of Oryon cores.
When Qualcomm acquired Nuvia, technically all Nuvia's licenses should've been transferred to Qualcomm. Now, ARM is claiming that the license transfer occurred without their authorisation, and Qualcomm claims that there should be no need for that auth as they own Nuvia and hence all the IPs of Nuvia as well. This case has been ongoing for close to a year now.

As much as ARM has power in this regard, it’s worth noting Qualcomm is their biggest customer. So the matter will be resolved quickly imo.

Who said companies doesnt design thier chips !? Yes they do, but they use is ARM Instruction set .

Apple design their own chips, so is Qualcomm now... It's just that they use the ISA of Arm.
Mediatek on the other hand uses Core ready-made by Arm.

No, afaik nuvia had the license underwhich they can make their custom arm based cores and were only for server chips. But then Qualcomm bought the nuvia and made consumer chips which was asper arm in violation of their agreement.

Why are you making it look like ARM is the one in the wrong. Qualcomm violated the ALA. ARM clearly mentioned the agreements were not interchangeable and Qualcomm used the tech from Nuvia's license without permission.

Saying Apple or Qualcomm or Samsung doesn't "DESIGN" their own chips cause they use ARM architecture is like saying AMD doesn't design their own chip cause they use x86 architecture.

ARM is an architecture and yes, it also provides PRE-BUILT CORE DESIGNS to some companies, doesn't mean all companies making an ARM based chip is just taking designs from ARM and NOT DESIGNING THEIR OWN CHIPS.

if that was the case, ALL ARM chips would perform same.

Bro.. incorrect info... only mediatek sources off-shelf cores completely from arm..but yes, all the companies use arm's instruction sets to design their cores for which they have to pay for the arm licence...this will be resolved sooner than later as both companies need each other...

this might work out as the custom rom community is like less than half how it used to be less support so people are not considering them anymore unless they have a really old device...
mediatek is receiving developer support so they're getting optimized on time and used in cheaper models to attract more customers

Wrong apple uses arm architecture Apple uses Apple-designed cores in its processors, not standard ARM cores. However, these cores are based on the ARM architecture, specifically the ARM instruction set, for which Apple has a license. The CPUs in these chips, are entirely designed in-house by Apple. Also apple uses own designed GPU
