Blender 3.0 is getting more powerful and we can make realistic plants now! I try to explain everything thoroughly, so that you can follow even if you are a beginner with geometry nodes.

Fun story: the background visuals on the stage should've actually been the intro, but it looked crappy so I just smashed it there and called it a day!

In the 3.1 Alpha version the "Curve Parameter" node doesn't exist. However, you can use the "Spline Parameter" node instead and connect the "factor" output of the "Multiply" node. This is configured around minute 6:00

I really love your tutorials, because unlike other geometry node tutorials out there, you explain every node. I really appreciate it as someone who doesn't really know where to use what node and why it works that way. Thank you <3

Even when I'm too lazy to focus I can understand what you're doing... That's mastery 👍..

In case you're still curious after almost a year: "Tangent" in English comes from Latin, "Tangentem", which ultimately means, "To touch". This is similar to the English word, "Tangible", meaning something like, "Touchable".

Great tutorial! The "curve parameter" being renamed "spline parameter" threw me for a bit.

I also animated the thickness at the base by attaching the "end" parameter to a multiply by the .02 value and then addition node of .001

My favorite is "vacuum cleaner tube that you have stepped on" or "drinking straw you chewed too much"

This tutorial is done really well. Also really appreciate stopping and showing view of all nodes

Nice tutorial. One small improvement: you can use several instances of the group input node, no need to drag it around, just copy it.

I agree totally with Green below - your explanations of each node is so very helpful to anyone grappling with geonodes. I get so frustated with tutorials that tell you how to do something but not why you are doing it. Sincere thanks and keep doing it your way!

Geometry nodes are so cool but so complicated, your tutorials strike the perfect balance between wanting to make something cool quickly yet also wanting to learn the steps along the way to get there.
Thanks for taking to time to make this !

I love just watching tutorials when I’m bored, I won’t even be working on a scene, I just like learning. And this tutorial has taught me a lot so thank you so much.
(Also, English does have the word tangent, and you defined it perfectly haha)

Thank you so much for this incredible tutorial. I really love how you pause and show the node graph a certain points, its so thoughtful. I'm making the transition over from Cinema4D and looking forward to seeing all of your tutorials in future. Well done.

When you added the golden ratio to the growth pattern you had a new subscriber! Thank you for this tutorial.

This is not only a tutorial how to make a plant but also how to work with nodes. This is a very well explained tutorial without getting to heavy and boring. I enjoyed it very much . Thank You 👍😁

instead of a map range node for inverting the vector. try the multiply add node. Use the curve parameter as vector input, make multiplier (-1.0, -1.0, -1.0), and the addend (1.0, 1.0, 1.0). Basically the output is 1.0 - input, which is the same as what your trying to do. and probably simpler.

This is the best tutorial on Blender I've ever seen! You really explains how the things work and why should we use this or that node at every single step. You are not just showing how to do something, but helps to understand the process and build useful knowledge. MANY THANKS!

hey man. Great tutorial. I'm just starting with Blender (comming from another 3d app) and this is my first project tutorial (besides the interface ones). Was pretty easy to follow and the result is more than I hoped for! Thanks a bunch!

I like how you take the time to explain what the nodes do and why! It is a big help in understanding Geometry Nodes! Great work!
