My mother used to put stuff on law-away and pay like 5 bucks a week or whatever.
I was an adult when I finally realized how much my parents struggled to keep three kids in clothes. And we always had nice stuff too.
Thats why I started spoiling my mother as soon as I was able.
My dad too---by buying him fishing tackle and tools. lol

As a grandmother, I did the same thing last month while visiting them. I left knowing the sizes they wear and I will send them the clothes I want them to wear 😂😂😂😊

I remember those days, but for me and my mom it was the opposite okay son let's go school shopping, hold up mom I got 8 shirts that fit, and 6 pants that fit I am good, plus I am doing NJROTC, so one day I am good cause of uniform, & underwear/socks no tears no stains all good. Yeah, she pulled me into the car, but I made a strong case.

But in store when I said to walk around in them, she'd say they were fine.
