Excel COUNTIF and COUNTIFS functions Tutorial

Learn how to use the COUNTIF and COUNTIFS functions in Excel.

The Excel COUNTIF function counts the cells based on the condition you specify. In the first example, we will count the number of cells in column C, containing ’Tom.’

In the second example, we want to use more than one condition, so we’ll apply the COUNTIFS function. The COUNTIFS function counts the number of cells in a range that meets single or multiple criteria. You can download the Excel file that I used during the video.
