I purchased the Seiko 5 Sports 55th Anniversary Limited Edition. Not because it was a "Limited Edition", but because I liked the retro look of it. I didn't rush out and buy it for $450.00, I waited a while and picked it up for $350.00 which was a price that I could live with and closer to what I felt it was worth.

Correct on the Seiko LEs, though there are some occasional genuine limited editions. I’ve got a Kosuke Kawamura Seiko 5 that was a genuine 500 piece LE from Seiko Boutique and still trades for 3x MSRP on Chrono24, which is strange… not that any watch is ever an investment of course

IFL pops up on certain channels from time to time, so I'm glad to see the warranty problem highlighted.

Found a gold digital PRX for £205 brand new and compared to any Casio digital I’ve owned it’s a lot better for not a whole lot more cash. The look isn’t for everyone though.

Totally agree with the PRX digital and what you mentioned about upgrading your Casio. I did an SKXMod upgrade to my Royale. IP coated SS case and bracelet, 980HV hardness with an engraved titanium case back (1000HV), and sapphire crystal for £122! Watch is even more amazing now! Oh, and bracelet is screw adjusted with a fully milled clasp and 4 holes of micro adjustment!

I'm with you on all your point's I feel I know enough To not buy poorly now. But it's easy to do as In reality most watches are, but if you can obtain good specs for a great price or what is deemed as reasonable to you, then I think that's OK. You never think down the line when you may want to sell it, and you make more than you purchased it. Think of it like purchasing a car.

Great video - I subscribed because of it

If Tissot reimagined the 35mm PRX digital with a high gloss black crystal and included a push button, dot matrix, green LED display that’s only visible when you push the button (like the Hamilton PSR) that would be cool and would do away with the huge negative space problem it currently has

On the 40mm? To be fair if they used the 40mm case and made a smart watch version they’d sell a bucket load to the younger audience they’re trying to target with the PRX

IFL watches? Buy used and quartz ONLY to minimise potential issues

And special editions? Better off with a micro brand if you want something different

Failing that look for something quirky like a modded Vostok or Seiko - properly done some of these are amazing

If exclusivity / rarity is what you want look for a specialist watch like a CWC, Vertex or Marathon

Obvious flaw in the reasoning here is not to mention the percentage of watches produced with the actual demand for those watches. 15, 555 might seem like a lot of watches compared to a microbrand, but the demand for that particular watch in actual numbers of potential buyers far outnumbers the buyers for a particular microbrand edition. Seiko caters to the demands of literally millions of watch buyers worldwide, so relatively small productions of thousands are definitely limited editions for such a company.

I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say— out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the amzwatch's watches are the most intriguing.

PRX digital works better in gold in my opinion, would have to be dirt cheap though 😂

Nice list Kieron, interesting and informative as usual.
One collaboration I did like was the Nasa Gshocks, main reason being I always wanted to fly a space shuttle!
It didn't happen by the way, apparently you can't smoke on them...bah.
Cheers for another great video, hope all's well my friend 👍

Fabulous video!! So on point - and funny! These IFL watches are fun. But it if you like and it means something then buy it. It’s certainly no investment and there are SO many “limited” editions now they are beating a dead horse. I love my Beaucroft British Sky limited (25 pieces) because it means something to me. I certainly don’t expect any resale value. Hopefully one of my nieces or nephews will like to inherit my watches……😂

I bought a Pepsi Timex Harborside Coast Automatic online on sale, the rotating bezel didnt line up to the 12 hr marker, the lume was non existent, the case was metalic coated brass with very terrible brushing. For a "dive" watch, it featured exhibition case back with only 50m water resistant. Tried to sell it off, no one asked about it, tried to give it away, no one wanted it. I am never buying another timex again

100% agree with your summary of Timex. I’ve returned my last three purchases (over a two year period). Flimsy/tinney, bad QC, and poor dimension choices. One was $199 (quartz gmt) and was an absolute piece of junk. Don’t even get me started on the straps.

I bought the Seiko 5 not because of " limited edition, " because I liked it and it is "AFFORDABLE!!" Under 400 dollars ( US). The navigator limited edition for instance was much more.

Awesome! None of our watches made the list!

Have to differ with you on the Seiko front. Yep, 15k watches as a "limited" edition might sound silly on the surface, but when your market reach and production numbers put just about every other brand in the shade, it doesn't look too silly. Also keep in mind that in the case of the 5 Sports 1968 reissue, you're paying a rather reasonable sum for a reissue that Seiko didn't just phone in (finally!), and the numbers produced mean that even I might still have a shot at snagging one.

And, we can't have it both ways: some YouTube folks have slagged Seiko for releasing some highly desirable watches in what most would call *truly* limited numbers, and priced appropriately. Damned if they do, damned if they don't?

I'm definitely checking the used market for IFL watches. I know it wasn't your intention, but you really sold me on them.

Actually I’d rather take out the dial myself and have a local artist paint it and put it back. That’s a limited edition…..
