The majority of people don't need anything more than the SE. It does everything you need it to do and with low power mode I can get pretty much two days out of the battery.

Had my first series till about a week ago when the screen popped off. Never thought I needed a new one till i got the new SE and oh man i missed out on so much. It’s a million times faster, brighter and responsive.

I’m still here rocking the series 3, does everything I need it to do, a little slow when opening the app switcher or quickly switching apps but still gets the job done and I don’t see myself upgrading anytime soon.

I’ve been using the Series 2 since January 2017, and it’s been alright. But I recently upgraded to the Series 9 because I am old, and have become accident prone, and also sickly. So I needed the crash and fall detection, the ECG and blood oxygen feature, and the double tap because I don’t even want to tap or hold my mobile devices anymore.

fun fact, series 1 is actually a second one. it came out in 9/16/2016, whereas the first one came out on 4/24/2015

My issue with the older ones that are no longer supported are a lack of security updates and battery life/health. Besides that I would agree. Get an SE would be my recommendation

I just upgraded to the SE2 just about a month ago. I had the Series 3, but decided to upgrade, due to the battery draining before the day was over. If the battery kept a decent charge, I wouldn’t have upgraded.

I still have my series 0 (7000) and will turn it on from time to time, the only issue is the battery doesn’t last

Unless you get a good deal when buying a new one there is almost no reason until apple slowly destroys it with watch os updates

Don’t buy cheap Apple watches. I got the Apple Watch Pro two or whatever you call it. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 I love my battery. Life 48 hours always on display for the basic use that I use it on. I love it.

Mine was still working up until a couple years ago. I dropped it on my tile floor. It still worked though even though the screen was cracked. Eventually the battery just had enough and went out. Prior to all this, it did still do all that I needed. One issue though. During fitness activities, that battery crapped out real quick. Last, the newer watches are so much faster when using apps and using the system! Series 1 was unusable with apps! With all that said, I think Apple Watches have peaked in 2024! That doesn’t mean they won’t sell. People just won’t buy them until they previous watch completely crap out!

I am a watch nerd, I’ll buy normal watches whenever I get the chance. However I am planning to become an arborist and an Apple Watch would make this quite dangerous job a little safer as I can just look at my wrist instead of grabbing for my phone and thus being distracted if I need to take a call or read a message.
I am planning to buy an SE or SE2 an ultra or ultra 2 would be great as they are very durable but the price is especially for my unjustifiable.
