The Reality of a 12-Core CPU in 2019

AMD's comeback continues with the 12-core Ryzen 9 3900X... a 7nm chip with excellent boost boost frequencies, modest power draw, and a decent box cooler (which we'll test in a separate video). But despite its performance and relatively decent value, should you even consider one for gaming, streaming, and/or content creation?

Sorry, but I mostly YouTube and browse Reddit and I would *NEVER* buy a 12 core CPU just to say I have one when there is a 64 core threadripper coming down the line.

12 cores.... We sure have come a long way since 2015. I remember when only the tech enthusiasts and youtubers had 12 cores from Intel, spending over a thousand dollars for one cpu. Now AMD has changed so much. I never imagined then that i would ever have 8 cores cpus. In 2014 everyone was saying how 4 cores was the standard and only Intel was the way to go. Hope the gpu market also changes but i doubt it since Nvidia has learned from Intel's mistake and is already working on the next gen gpu since RTX was a flop and AMD is trying to catch up.

IMO the 1% and 0.1% lows are more important than average, in which the 3900X actually more frequently beat the 9900K than in the averages.

Think like this, yes 3900X gives you more fps than 3700x, but with the difference in price you should get a better GPU and than you will gain a lot more FPS in games.
