Now I can finally get a second friend besides Atrioc. Thank you AI!

For me, those Google Gemini ads did it for me. The way that it brands itself just seems sooo disconnected from reality and human interaction, all while the actual product is just reading Reddit posts or the first line of Wikipedia.

"Shaven Atrioc kinda looks like one of those f*cked up porcelain puppets from polar express"

thank you, chatter

The problem is when they shove AI buzzwords into their product or company descriptions, thats not "for" consumers. Its for share holders. And until it stops helping pump the stock, its not gonna stop no matter how much it hurts sales.

In hitchhikers guide to the galaxy there are automatic doors on a spaceship that super inteligent and sentient. Their job is to open the door.

the fact that i got a Google AI ad in the middle of the video as soon as Atrioc basically said "AI is dead" made me legit cackle LOL

The crazy thing is you can actually come up with great ways to use AI and it seems all these billionaire investors are interested in are bullshit hype driven zero credential chatgpt ripoffs. There are so many ways you can incorporate AI to be incredibly useful for stuff like education-portals and online learning sites. Imagine how helpful it would be to be in a math class and able to ask an AI teacher assistant for help understanding specific questions you have about the material. But of course marketing/designing products with real use cases for something like a government funded school isn't a path for quick and easy stacks of $$ so they rather design useless shit nobody asked for and sell it to investors on the prayer that it will succeed based an idea/hype alone.

AI would change the world, but this isn't AI bro, they made it into a buzzword that is meaningless and now we have to use fucking AGI or whatever.

Of course advertising that you used AI is going to sell less, that's like saying "we were too lazy, so we hoped random algorithms would fix it for free". AI just ruins value, not create any.

The trailer for the ai necklace looks more like a trailer for a new dystopian thriller movie

yea. I've been studying software engineering in uni for 3 years, done 5 ai subjects, it is the future, but I see soooo many so many products use AI that shouldn't. too much just using it as a buzzword, too much use of LLMs that aren't reliable (because it's still early for them) but, it is fucking awesome and it will do a lot, people just take technological advancements and blow them out of proportion.

Ok wait I do consumer research and the idea of an Appliance calling out it's owner on shit because it's got one other thing to do for all existence is a hilarious dystopia.

So Office Space is a great movie and the guy who made it (Mike Judge) also made a similar show called Silicon Valley that NAILED everything we're seeing right now. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the lampooning of Silicon Valley and tech culture in general
