Upgrading your energy well is hard. You need 4500 Crystallized Charges to reach the maximum, and it just costs so, so much zonaite to get to that. But there’s actually another way. Instead of buying the charges, simply go kill bosses and minibosses in the depths of hyrule. Mark each of these as they will drop atleast 20 charges a piece, and most aren’t actually too difficult. They respawn every Blood Moon, letting you easily farm entire energy wells each time one happens. Good luck, and enjoy making structures with your maxed out battery!

Yeah, this is what i do, every blood moon i go on a cycle and kill all the silver lynels in the depths, as well as a few talus for gemstones, and you just get showered in charges. Just recently hit the 4500 mark after having already completely upgraded my battery, so I'd be able to upgrade it fully twice over at this point xD

I started farming thinking it was 300 crystallized charges per 1/3 of battery. Was so elated when it turns out it's 300 per whole battery

I discovered that there’s always a boss refight in the depths for each boss 3 times and you get 100 charges first win each time, so you can beat the story and then go through the boss refights (you get about 12 battery wells.

Each kohga encounter gives 100 charges, each Yiga hideout gives 20, and every rematch in the depths with a main story boss will give another 100, and there are several rematches for each boss

If you do the Kohga quest line you get 100 Crystalline Zonite for each boss battle, and if you stop at Yiga strongholds there is a chest with 20 and then there is the mini bosses. It goes real quick then.

I just go to the mines, do boss rematches, koga, yiga forts, froxes and other depths bosses, and that’s it’s. Never spent any zonaite on upgrades and I just got my first blue slot. It’s a pretty nice organic way to upgrade my battery and I’ve never had to deal with fatigue from boring grinding.

Also, you can force a blood moon in depths by shooting opals with a multi-shot bow at a breakable wall while in bullet time.

Honestly I love the challenge of having to mine zonaite, but it’s good to know there’s another way to get the crystal charges.

You can also do that special side quest involving your Rival / enemy, each Place seems to give you a good amount so far

I normally go mining cuz large zonaite is actually very common in the depths and you can turn those in large crystals

If you have a non updated hyrule you can also just duplicate the large zonaite

The lynel coliseum is perfect for this, every blood moon you can’t get a full battery upgrade and all their loot. Dropped a travel medallion for that very reason

Doing the Kohga questline and rematching main story bosses in the depths rewards you with 100 charges each fight. There are about 400 with Kohga iirc, and 3 arenas per boss. It nets you a solid amount of charges. every couple days the forges restock and you can buy more charges.

As you've heard, all kohga strongholds give you 20 charge, and the bosses give you 100 on the first fight.
What you haven't heard is that there is always treasure in the mines and forests of the depths, either giving you 20 charges or...something else. :)

I really enjoy re-doing all the big main bosses again and they give you 100 when you fight them for the first time and there are 12 (3 locations each for all 4 bosses) in the depths so that’s an easy 1200.

The lynel arena gives 100 per run through every blood moon so when you get one just do that

And hey, from what I’ve heard, you can induce a blood moon with a five shot bow and some opal above the apple orchard on satori mountain

You can also do the boss fight rematches. I didn't do them all, but I did find at least 4 separate instances of the Wind Temple boss that gave 100 charges each. I assume there's 4-5 of each boss down there. Easy to get batteries from them.

I duplicated large zonait and then bought the large crystalized charges. Then I would set up a campfire sleep until morning, and load the autosave it made. Then the store is restocked. But I had to do the 1.1.2 dupe glitch
