We bought feeders from a gentleman down near mccomb and even at $25 a piglet, he still covered the cost of keeping his 900 lb boar and his two sows, with the profits of just two litters!

We raised four pigs at a time and after selling the other three, it paid for our pig and then some! (Love Wilson’s sausage! That’s some fine eating!)

Great info i completely know what your saying about cost. i have tried to find people and see if they would buy for me. Most right now just say cheaper in the stores but what they dont get is the quality of meat is so much better. 5 Star video Colby.

I built a smokehouse a few years ago and learned to cure and smoke my own bacon I get from a butcher shop! Nothing compares to FRESH bacon!!

interesting i assume then by your math each piglet pays for its dam and sire then. litter of 6 then you reap the cost of 6 dams and sires. At least that is my interpretation.
