TIMESTAMPS:
0:32 Cage-free eggs are misleading at best
2:05 Water is added to meat to make it weigh more
3:26 Items in the bakery may not be baked in store
4:55 Impulse items like candy are always next to the register
6:21 Sale prices may not be such a good deal
8:07 Already cut produce is a total rip off
9:25 Some grocers mislabel meat and charge more for it
10:43 The most expensive items are at eye level
11:39 Organic food may not be organic after all
13:03 The chips are next to the salsa for a reason

SUMMARIES:
- If you want real free-range cage-free eggs, try to find a small-time farmer who lets their chickens run free.
- Meat is often plumped up with water.
- The so-called fresh baked items that the bakery sells might not be as fresh as you think they are.
- All of those impulse items are the store’s last-ditch effort to get you to spend as much as possible.
- Stores do all kinds of sketchy things to jack up the prices before putting something on sale.
- Don’t want to buy peeled and cut produce is because it can make people sick.
- You might be surprised how often grocery stores play this game where they label a piece of meat one thing and sell it as another.
- The next time you’re at the store, pay attention to the items that are at eye level.
- You’ll have to go out of your way to buy organic, but it’s so worth it. Don’t allow farmers and stores to con you into buying something that is anything other than what they claim.
- Having the salsa next to the chips means there is a much better chance that a jar ends up in your basket along with the bag of chips.

Do you really think it is the "Grocery Store". that are scamming you, or is it the food industry that is doing this.

I’m surprised bottled soda isn’t on this list. A small portable bottle is more expensive than a 2 liter bottle.

I know someone who has been in the back of the local Walmart bakery department, covered in flour, and churning out breads, cakes, pies, rolls, cookies, and donuts for the better part of 25 years (an immigrant, now citizen, to boot). She and her associates make everything that's "fresh baked" that they sell. Jut saying.

I work in a convenience store and thinking about it, we keep the chips and dips right next to each other as well.

Something that's irritating me a bit, lately, is the fact that we're being charged for bottle/can return but the stores are not taking bottles/cans back.

BTW, the chip thing with salsa and where items are placed (not talking about impulse isle) are bought by the companies. Especially chain stores. Or should I say, definitely chain stores. That is not a grocery store issue. The companies pay for shelf locations. It’s really how grocery stores can have other items so cheep or run really great sales.
Research a little better, okay?

I check the regular price to compare to sale price. Sometimes the larger size works out cheaper than the sale price.

Also the tag with the price on it (located on the shelf) will tell you how much you are paying for said object by oz. sometimes the family size cost more money per oz. then the smaller size. So make sure you look at the tag and compare prices by the oz

"Eating healthy is expensive as it is"
Ah yes, please proceed to tell me that a bag of doritos and mountain dew are cheaper than a head of lettuce and, a bag of kale. That's just an excuse people make to eat like crap.

I’d love to see you do a video on “the truth behind those food delivery companies” like Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, Home Chef, and Daily Harvest. Thanks! 😁👍
