I found a saver and quicker fix: after stopping the Windows Update service I renamed the folder SoftwareDistribution to SoftwareDistributionSave and restarted the computer. Windows then installed the updates without any problems. Windows is recreating the SoftwareDistribution folder itself and if the restart was successful you are free to delete the SoftwareDistributionSave folder.

when ur uninstalling the update a way to get rid of the problem updates was to copy and paste the code of the updates which wont install and put that code into the search bar. then uninstall that update. I had 2 updates that wouldnt install and this only worked for one of them since the other code didnt show up for any of the installed updates

after the rolled back update my file explorer doesn't work so I can't even open explorer to delete the softwaredistribution folder...
