Get dog and gun if you got a wacko harassing both husband and wife.

This is why there's a 2nd amendment. When seconds count and police are minutes away, the only person you can rely on is yourself . Buy a gun, get trained, and be able to protect yourself and family .

If she had a gun... At least she could have had a chance... A protection order is worth a piece of paper... Unless you can make it into a knife its not worth the ink printed on it 🤣

When it gets to the point you even have to think of a protection order. You have to protect yourself. There needs to be a law in place for people who are stalking are harrassing someone they need to be arrested .

We should have red flag laws for this stuff. He should have been required to have a psychological evaluation due to his previous behaviors. Red flag laws could not only protect the targets but also the perpetrators as it would get them help before they act. Something needs to change.

If the driver has a E log in his tractor then they know exactly where he is . I think all commercial trucks are supposed to be equipped with them .

The court failed her. Stalkers don't deserve drivers license. They have to work? They should have thought of that before they stked. Arrest and jail, prison.

Why is the news reporter asking questions the lady already answered?

My husband thinks I’m a bit paranoid, but we have an alarm system, sensors in all windows and doors, cameras in every single corner of our property, guard dog, and means of protection. We are living scary times and we are just not safe. I have a 3 year old little boy, you better believe that if someone tries to break into my home and tries to hurt my family they will be met with force. You do not mess with a grizzly 🐻

Home security at my house is a lead bullet.

This case is a good argument for having a firearm. The police can not be there instantly.

I agree this was my first thought was why didn’t they get an alarm. And or keep their doors and windows locked and bolted etc. maybe they got overly confident the no contact order would actually work which don’t ever work. People new to stalking behavior often think this will work but it doesn’t. It’s still sad law enforcement and the more importantly the legal and justice system don’t do more with these types of cases. Also the last officer we had at our house gave us really good pointers and was trying to be helpful in the situation so law enforcement or someone legally a lawyer etc should’ve advised them to arm themselves and or get an alarm etc.

some of the advice below is nonsense (an alarm, and bolted doors/windows isn't always going to prevent this). A stalker can ambush someone anytime, including when you are walking to your vehicle (home, office, store, etc.). An given what happened in Idaho recently, banning guns isn't going to ensure you are safe. i think law abiding citizens should have a right to a gun permit, I have seen plenty of instances where people that were legally armed, were able to successfuly defend themselves (men, women and elderly people as well). For home safety, security dogs and guns are the only way you are going to stop a determined intruder.

Namely, arming with a gun. I hate the idea but the law is slow and LAZY when it comes to stalking cases.
Doing everything right and having cameras outside the home isn't enough if you're dead.
The suspect trucker could be tracked through his employer since he has to have a schedule for on time delivery.
Like the woman in Connecticut axed to death after receiving 200 threatening text messages from a stalker.
That suspect already had two assaults on women pending and wasn't arrested.
Seems the law wants actual blood shed or worse before doing anything.
The police will come with their crime tape, cameras, CSI units, and notepads to take information but the victim will be dead.
Death is permanent.

Look I was raised by and around police all of my life... And if there is one type of situation where the term "cop out" applies, it's always these types of situations. The laws exist. It's how they choose for whatever reason to interpret. And you can't make em do it if they don't wanna stop these kind of people. 20 years of being stalked, plus... Thes kind of people know exactly what lines to walk so as to ha e the police actually all but protecting THEM from the people they are trying to victimize. It's sick what happens with stalking, harassment, and terrorism in this country. And it's the norm.

Coffindaffer said she doesn't want to victim blame but then precedes to victim blame...
Maybe she needs a panic room or hire a security service or maybe keep a Glock with full mag ready to fire...
Or maybe not do a podcast to attact loons in the first place...
It was preventable.

Almost all long haul truckers are on computer based tracking devices now. But I would have at least armed myself and gotten a big noisy dog.
