I’m really interested in joining one of the forces, so this was really good advice

I just passed my Polygraph and have been offered a start date for the Mesa PD academy!

Hardest part was trying not to yell STFU every 5 min at the fellow cadets so we don’t get smoked.

From what I've seen in videos so far it looks like the hardest parts are waking up at 5 in the morning and running

Running was the hardest part for me. In California you have to do a 12 minute mile and a half 6 times during the academy and I absolutely despise running. All the other physical aspects were really easy but running is the bane of my existence. I really struggled with that.

I`m 36 and have been in ministry for 10 years. I starting riding with our local PD and developed a heart for it. I was just hired full time and headed to the academy in May.

I’m going through the academy now. The test are def a challenge, at least the first few because it’s a lot of information. But like you said, pay attention, take good notes and study.

I'm my academy. Our test he'd to be 100 percent. Nothing less. The hardest part was firearms, defensive driving and defensive tactics.

In California we have to score 84% or higher I'd be less stressed if it was 75% haha, I'm in scenario testing and I feel like that's the most stressful because you never know what call you will get and what scenario you are being tested on until you arrive on scene. Plus we can get fired if we fail a scenario test. It's not hard it's just that make or break from graduating in 3 weeks that's stressful

I’m going to start my application for the Orange County Sheriffs in two weeks on my 20th birthday. So this is great advice.

I’ve been through 2 different police academies, tests are definitely the stressful part. But also the first 1-3 months of getting physically beat down with the PT and smoke sessions lol

The test-taking was nerve-racking for me. I have test anxiety so it made it worse. We had to score 70% except on the DUI/SFST we had to score 80% on a 10-question test. Definitely find a way to stay focused.
