What makes these cases even more sad is the dogs probably saw what happened and couldn't help save their human. I wish they could tell us what happened.

Danny was a good friend. I lived in sweet home during that time. In the paper it said he came missing near a heavily forested area, that recently became open. In the vanished podcast his dad recalls the event. Dad went to get car he drove for the sheriff said was stuck in the mud. He got there and drove it home. Also dad said it looked staged and there was large footprint, s near. I no all the area around sweet home and saw sasquach two times near there. I believe he was abducted. thank you.

You were talking about why a dog would leave their master...one reason that happened to me while walking with my dog...When she took off after something in a lightly wooded area, I called and whistled for her. I could see her, but the more I called and ran after her, the more she ran further from me... She clearly acted like she couldn't tell where my voice was coming from... I think voices and whistling bounce off the trees and confuse dogs. I finally was able to get in her line of vision, and she came bounding back to me. She was a Shetland sheep dog.

I wish they would ”return" check those permits and require permit holders to check back in upon leaving the park. Simple checks and balances that could save lives.

I grew up in Florence, Oregon and live in Washington state now. Sweet Home and the wilderness there are beautiful. I have camped out there and enjoyed the crystal clear creeks. However, there are a lot of unsavory characters in the woods up there. My heart goes out to Daniel’s family.
