so I had a batch i was regrowing last year & ended up tossing them into soil then moving them into my garden box, by the end of the growing season 3 of the INDIVIDUAL plants had sprouted maybe 7 stalkes each like a giant hand & were maybe 4/4.5 FEET tall with each shoot like 3-4inches wide, it was WILD!!!

It’s true! It works!! I keep growing green onions on accident lol I’ll look in my veg cabinet and there’s like totally forgotten, unplanned, and yet thriving green onions. It’s always a nice surprise 😅

if this works that would be great because even though green onions aren't expensive even the organic ones, they typically go bad before I can finish them. thanks for this video.

Eventually do you have to plant them in soil or can you keep growing and chopping in a jar? Also how much sunlight do they need? I really want to try this!😀

I keep the root and plant them in the garden. I use as needed or if I don’t use them, I cut them and leave them on the ground.

I notice that I can usually get about a month of growing green onions like this. The water gets smelly or the roots start to turn. But I have a box planter that I put them in and they do well in soil

Do they inherently get thinner, or do you need to nourish the soil?

Do you chop them when you buy them. Coz where I am we buy them full length. They are not cut. And roots are very long on purchase.

I put onions in water and I noticed pink around the roots. What is the pink stuff? Is it still safe to use/ eat ?
