Reliability Update on our 13' Lexus GS350 and Installing Brembo's UV Coated Rotors

Lately I have been receiving a lot of requests about our Lexus asking if we still own the car and if it has been reliable. In this video I give you an update on the Lexus in terms of reliability and future maintenance items I plan on doing (towards the end). Also, in this video I will install a pair of UV coated Brembo rotors and Brembo pads and give you my first impressions on them.

Parts I used can be found below. If you would like to support the channel by purchasing from the affiliate links it is much appreciated. The money goes towards better camera equipment parts reviews (like the one here).

Rear Rotors for 4th Generation Lexus GS350 (base and F-Sport).

Front Rotors for 4th Generation Lexus GS350 (Base and AWD Only).
Sadly Brembo doesn't make a front brake rotor for the 4th GS, yet. They do have a pad for the front brakes.

Hey Dan, another great video! I have 2013 GS350 AWD, and the only maintenance I have spent money on are oil change every 3000 miles, brakes, tires, and windshield fluid which I just had to follow your videos. It's now at 130, 000 miles but still like brand new. I personally installed sound deadening on the bottom of the whole trunk and 3rd party apple carplay purchased from ebay. The car is dead silent when I am driving and carplay works just fine and feels even better than most recent version of GS lol. Always thanks for the videos.

Hey Dan. I too have a 2013 GS350 rear wheel drive that I purchased from Carmax in 2016 with 27k. Also like you the only thing I had to do is breaks, tires and fluids. I do wish I had a lift. So fluids like transmission and radiator are performed by a local mechanic. I live for your videos. Please keep them coming. Thanks.

2013 GS awd luxury. 250k miles and still trouble free! Wouldn’t buy anything but a Lexus/Toyota.

Thank you for this and all the videos! I just grabbed a 15 GS350 with low miles and you will help me keep it a very long time. Hope you’re enjoying the 4th holiday weekend.

Dan I am a huge fan of the videos. Great work. You have saved me so much money over the years!

I have a 2015 GS 350k with 107k miles on it - purchased with 30k on it. Had zero issues other than consumable like you. After 2 years of ownership, we loved the car so much we bought another one, a 2018 GS 350 too that only had 12k on it. Over 40k now and so far a similar experience. Plan to own them for as long as possible.

A question I have for you is rust proofing the bottom of the vehicle. Do you use anything? How frequently? And do you just spray everywhere?

Thanks

I am preparing to purchase a 2014 gs350 fsport this weekend, 129k miles, in good condition. Should I look out for anything?

I could trade in an old car my mother gave me and buy at least a 2013 gs350, I’m a college student who doesn’t drive much and has saved lots of money, would it be justifiable to purchase the gs? Just based on potential insurance cost, maintenance, etc. Not sure if I’ll be driving enough to worry about the more expensive gas costs. I’ve seen cases of maintenance being handled with local toyota dealers

The Mark Levinson system is suck and sounds just ok, not worth the hype.
Randomly no sound coming out from the speakers. Need to restart the car 2 or 3 times to get the sound back.

2015 with 78k miles, nothing has needed replacement other than the usual oil, tires, and brakes. oh, the gas cap a year ago, replaced with a Lexus cap not a cheap chinese knock-off. that's all so far.
