200k miles, you don’t have to tell us the tires aren’t from the factory

My 2010 Lariat has 280k. Totally crappybin that during those milesnIngad to replace my power steering pump and backup camera. In addition, I recently had to replace the original alternator!! I also just had to order seat covers and steering wheel wrap. Seriously though, best truck I have ever owned, still rides like they day I purchased it!

2016 3.5 eco boost. I bought it used in 2018 with 50k mi. I am currently at 119k mi. I dont know what the previous owner was doing with the truck, I suspect a lot of towing. I had transmission shutter issues at 90k, I did a filter change and added a little tube of shutter fix. It is definitely masking the issue as it has been issue free since then, im waiting for it to die. I also had misfire codes at 60k, it melted spark plugs, replaced those and have had no problems since then. Coolant disappears from time to time, its not consistent. Rear main is leaking. Cam phasers rattle on start up, the work around that I have been doing is a long crank in the morning for about 4-5 seconds. The first time it did that was about 6 months after I bought it, it freaked the hell outta me. I am always early on my oil changes too, I wait till the meter says 50%. It ate a cat once that was trying to stay warm. I remote started it one morning and I guess the cat was somewhere close to the belt cause the cat went around with the belt and broke a bunch of stuff. So it sat there running long enough to kill the battery cause the belt wasnt spinning anything. All that being said. When you ride in it you would never know it has these issues. It still tows nice. There isnt any rust anywhere, and is still pretty. I have never had to get it aligned, and I hammer it off road. Super quiet and smooth ride. I dont think I will buy another truck if I can avoid it. I will just fix this one. I love it.

The myth of these turbos has been circulating around a lot. That’s because pre 21 they were crap. Unfortunately people just assume the newer gen engines are the same which they are not. I keep hearing of more and more of these engines lasting well beyond 200k. As they should. Without cam phaser issues

I own two, a 2002 with a 5.4L 2v V8 and a 2012 Raptor with a 6.2L both near 200K miles and both have been nothing but reliable. Change oil every 5K miles and do other routine maintenance and they are very, very solid and reliable. 👍

3.5 Twin Turbo in my Tremor runs like a dream. Pulls like a dream and has given me zero issues. These newer 3, 5s I believe have the kinks worked out. As I know a couple friends who have close to 200 k on them and haven’t had one issue

I pull a 4, 600 lb. camper maybe 5, 500 lb. loaded with my tiny 2.7 Ecoboost powered F150 probably about 6 times a year, does great. A young man that was camping at the site next to ours with a really nice RAM told me the Ford Ecoboost’s were trash and so were the Silverado’s 5.3’s he’d had both and nothing but problems. I told him I’d had great luck so far my 17 94k and not the first problem and my current 23 has around 22k and not a problem, but I don’t run em hard and I’m a stickler on oil, filter and fluid changes. He pulled out a few days before us and pretty steep hill leaving the campground and I heard the reason this kid couldn’t keep a truck under him, he had it to the floor all the way up the hill. In my way of thinking if your aren’t beating your truck to death 200k should be very possible for most any full size truck on the market today. My F150 ain’t a Raptor or a TRX, I realize what it is and treat it good. I’ve met some smart folks that when it comes to machinery don’t have a lick sense!

I got a O2 F150 got 380, 000 miles on the 5.4 L two valve triton V8 and it ain’t showing no kinds of signs of even remotely slowing down shit I don’t even do oil changes maybe once a year I change the oil filter and had a fucking quart of oilruns like a champ

People complaining about turbo reliability need to get out of the 1970s. As long as the motor can handle the higher compression and is well maintained, a turbo motor can last.

My 2015 had the 5.0 and it was a great truck. I worked that poor truck hard for 100, 000 miles then decided I should get a 3/4 ton because of the abuse I subjected my Ford to. Got a ram 2500 and regret it. Should have gotten an F250 but the deal was good on a really low miles used ram so I passed on the new F250. The F150 was more comfortable and never broke down on me once, it did have door lock issues in freezing weather but the 2nd recall fixed that, the bottom seat cushion was almost worn out too. Now I have a squeaking & rattling/ poor build quality interior that isnt as comfortable in my opinion. Sometimes I can turn on cruise control, sometimes I cant. The mirrors have worse visibility when towing and are inconvenient when going from flipped to unflipped whereas the Ford just extended out and only minor adjustment if any was required. Recently the mirror has become more inconvenient because of a broken adjustment motor on the passenger side and the biggest issue, transmission has left me stranded! Ive had a few other failures such as a front wheel bearing that didnt leave me stranded but I had to limp home. My F150 never had many petty problems let alone big failures but the ram has. In about 15, 000 miles once I cross 100, 000 I will start looking for an F250

'17 f150 xl upgraded to xlt and 4wd at the dealer 2nd gen 3.5L Ecoboost with 221k miles. I spend very little in maintenance each year and keep that oil changed at 5k miles. Stock turbos and 10 spd. Complaints? I dont have custom headers to make my beehive sound deeper exhaust😅

Yeah it’s still running but how many times has the heads been off to get the valves cleaned from carbon buildup?

I’ve worked on a lot of trucks. 5.0 15-17 with 6 speed. Nothing from the past 10 years beats the reliability of that truck. Easy to work on if a coil or something goes bad. Especially the 17 models.

I’m not mad at you bruh😁 my 17 F-150 XLT 5.0 is my favorite bc no problem only had to change the alternator and transmission fluid and amazingly enough I put 20s on and still got great mileage for a Fx4
