Did you know that Ironhide wasn't originally planned to be in Transformer 07? Shocker right? Its hard to imagine our cannon toating trailblazer not being featured alongside Optimus Prime. I mean who's gonna bust all of those Decepticon chops bruh? But yeah in the initial draft of the first movie, Ironhide was not present among the Autobot cast. It was actually Arcee who was supposed to entering the frontlines and make her live action debut alongside the others. She would've been the only female robot in the movie. Unlike how she made her debut alongside her sisters Elita-1 and Chromia in Revenge of the Fallen. So our girl almost made it in as the first Autobot lady. But for some reasons the writers couldn't get the plotline right to greenlight her inclusion. Leaving behind this awesome design that would only be used for the movie tie in comics. But hey, all is well nowadays. Not only is she getting a G1 accurate facelift. She's also be in the next TF film Transformers Rise of the Beasts.

I wish Iron Hide never got killed off, aside from Bee he was one of the best characters in the live action movies. Would’ve been great to see him fought along side Optimus in Age of Extinction and The Last Knight

I just noticed that ironhide’s face almost closely resembles a wolf!!!! Ironhide became that much cooler

Not only that, she was going to be the motorcycle Lennox drives when he kills Blackout. Prowl was also planned, but the writers liked the idea of the police car being one of the bad guys, inspired by the T-1000 from Terminator 2.

This actually makes since, given how Arcee in Transformers Prime had a little bit of an edge compared to her G1 counterpart, so if she was in the first Bayformers film she could've had a personality similar to her TFP counterpart.

I resent that attempt to make Chromia and Elita-1 as Arcee clones

The former two were older than Arcee(who only debuted in the 86 movie along with Hot Rod, Kup, Springer, and Ultra Magnus)

Elita was the leader of the Female Autobots in Cybertron, and Chromia was the first female autobot to appear on screen

My 2019 Mustang GT is called Arcee. I paid tribute to her with a Transformers Prime inspired color scheme: blue with white stripes and spoiler, pink accent stripes. In the IDW comics, she was a Mustang.

Iron hide was always my favourite. I love his bulky build and murderous temperament. I really wished he got more screen time. I wanted so badly to see him ripping through hordes of deceptions with those huge cannons. But it never happened :(

Apparently the reason behind Arcee getting cut, was due to the writers not being able to figure out how to explain genders in Transformers and why Arcee looked female unlike the others.
In ROTF where she, Chromia and Elita-1 made their debut, the movie simply ignored giving an explenation.
Because there really isn't. Transformers don't have genders, they sometimes just look and sound masculine and or feminine.

It's sad how the movies were Ironhide's last notable role outside of the comics.
His presence died with him.
