I Bought 11 BROKEN PS Portals - Can I Fix Them?! I've never worked on a PS Portal before so we'll be learning about them together. Already I know that new replacement parts aren't available which will make repairs harder - especially for damaged thumbsticks. But these are each worth about $160-180 used so hopefully I can get a good number repaired.

The fact that you are going through chemo and still make these videos and have the patience and calmness than you have shows just how good and steady handed you are.

Is that hair I see coming back in? That makes me so happy! After my sister finished chemo, her hair came back really curly when it had been straight before. It's apparently pretty common for hair to come back with a different texture than before, along with it possibly even changing color.

Great video and I look forward to seeing you heal back to your healthy self! 💜

It was you who got me into repairs, because of you I have a whole drawer FULL of like a hundred Nintendo Ds's, and like 20 gamecubes in my room. I buy everything broken, then just fix it and end up saving money on products and whenever my stuff breaks I know how to fix it because of you! Thank you so much for having fun and informative videos on repair!

24:13 The "grooves" are designed so that the metal tab bends from the right place. If it was straight, without the narrow bit, the bending could happen in different spot and that's not good for tight fit.
The narrowing does mean it's the weakest point and metal fatigue will be an issue in repeated openings but it's "not perfect but the best we can do" sort of thing.

Omg, I haven’t checked in for a while and wondered why you have a shaved head until I read your community post. You’ve taught me a lot about repairs over the years, and I’m very grateful for that. My heartfelt condolences, and I wish you all the strength and hope you feel better soon. Thank you for still making videos ❤️🍀.

I had the curly hair syndrome too!, had stem cell transplant and a total of about 4 months in two hospitals as an inpatient with an initial maximum 5 year expectation of life if no treatment, and less than 40% chance of things succeeding at all! Glad to say that so far apart from various health issues and a shot immune system I am completely in remission, Been keeping my fingers crossed for you, I know how it feels between every blood check up and bone marrow test, well done you for your positive outlook and keeping our content going :)

That thumbstick issue with it coming off the track is such a common issue on these. I had this issue and had to get a warranty replacement after only 2 months! This video really helps if this happens to me again!

I love watching you take stuff apart and fix it. I’ve learned so much about how boards and small electronics work from you. Your the best brother!

I know in California they passed a Right to Repair bill that is fairly decent IMO. One of the huge issues is the ESA was able to get game consoles exempt from R2R which absolutely sucks.
