I'm a morning person so I get up early, make myself a coffee and usually journal for an hour. I'm a lifelong journaler but I started writing in the mornings specifically during the pandemic when I shifted to working from home and didn't have to commute (or leave the house.) I've stuck with it ever since! I love it and can't imagine what shape my brain would be in if I didn't do it!

I am the furthest from a morning person possible (my ideal productivity time is between 11pm and 2am) so I put in soul activities where I can. I love popping out and getting a coffee on my work break and getting a bit of sunshine, putting on my diffuser is a part of my self care routine to transition into the weekend, engaging in hobbies after work keeps me happy and sane. All these things give me “soul tingles”.

since im a student, i do my self care at night. in my mind, staying up late to do homework makes more sense than getting up early. i love the darkness and ambiance of nighttime

waking up and doing yoga/stretching in bed has seriously helped me so much. can't start my day without it.

I have a busy work schedule so opt to do things before I go to sleep. Write in my gratitude journal, read etc. ☺️

that opening was AMAZING!! And the radio bit for your alarm cracked me up so much HAHA. I also do sometimes think the cliche welness things are debateble, but I also noticed like you said that there are seasons for certain habits. Right now I'm also doing daily journaling and it has ben soooo nice, while I never liked it before. We'll see how long I stick to it but I currently adore it :)

Hi Caitlin, I started doing morning pages recently. I do morning pages after breakfast, meditation after lunch, and exercise before dinner. :) As you said, people got to try what works best for their day to day, and even switch things when needed :)

For those who don't want to pay to $$$ for one of these alarms try using smart light bulbs or smart outlets (typically under $20 US) and schedule the light to turn on when you want to wake up. It has been a game changer for waking up at 5am consistently during the week. With this method, I typically wake up before my alarm goes off and feel more awake!

I work from home and don't commute anywhere, so I put my selfcare wherever I can fit it 😅 today I had a 30-min workout at 2: 30, before my last meeting of the week.

I would really like to have a morning routine, but it is so hard for me to wake up early. And it vexes me cuz it's not like I'm my most productive at night, I don't wanna do anything past 8 pm 😬 so, not an early bird, not a night owl, how inconvenient!

I used to have my bedside lamp to turn on with a timer in the morning, but it bugs my husband. It was honestly the best way to wake up!

This sounds idyllic. I cannot begin to dream of this, I live alone too and I have a dog and no garden. I rush through the bathroom, get dressed, grab any old thing for breakfast and I’m out of the door for a walk. What would I give for a lie-in!
