Perspective that helps me: pregnancy sleep only gets worse but newborn sleep only gets better. 9 months post partum, your baby will likely be sleeping better than you did at 9 months pregnant (and so will you)! Hang in there, it definitely gets easier. I'm 41 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and can't wait to have a newborn and sleep a little better 😂😂

Our baby girl's first night home she literally didn't fall asleep til the birds were singing the next morning. My husband sat at the end of our bed and was like, "When people said we would never sleep again I didn't know they were SERIOUS?!" 😅

Thank you for touching on maternity leave. I HATE the policies in America. I literally will not be getting paid to be out with my daughter come July. They give 12-16 weeks but without pay. How do they expect us to survive? Ugh!

Oh thank you thank you! I'm holding my 2 week old on my chest as I type this because that's the only place he will sleep!

I have a now 7.5 month old son and I remember feeling so desperate to get sleep, I would cry while rocking my baby as a newborn. I thought we would never get sleep again! There is hope! You will be amazed at how your baby starts sleeping longer stretches!

I needed this video today!!! Trying to keep my head high.
I have a 5wk old and I've only had him home for a week. (He's been in the NICU due to being born at 34wks 6days and he's home now but on oxygen and an oximeter) my baby is finding the transition from constant attention and care to sleepy overly stressed parents hard. We know it will get better but my husband and I just cry every night. Porting around medical equipment everytime he feeds and needs a diaper change just makes it worse.

At first it’s hard but of course everyone will get their sleep back, my baby is 2 & currently I’m 36 weeks pregnant so it’s going to be a challenge but I know sleep will come & I will be fine so will every mom out there. So don’t get discouraged new moms! ♥️

My son didn't sleep 12 hours a night until he was 14 months old. That was after we hired a sleep trainer. My husband and I couldn't go on anymore. Having broken sleep for that long was the most traumatic part for us. I'm nervous with this second pregnancy. 5 hours a night was just not enough. We both need 9-10 hours a night to function.

You said to track your (the parents sleep) as opposed to your baby’s sleep, and that’s what I’ve been doing! I’ve been doing it for a few weeks, when I remember 🤪

I also love that you mentioned The Wonder Weeks app/book. I love the app!

ETA: My son (my 1st) didn’t sleep through my night until he was 18 months old. I truly thought I was never going to sleep again. My daughter (who is now 2 months old) has been sleeping in 6-7 hour stretches for the last couple of weeks. I feel so spoiled!

6 -8 months until a full night's rest... I'm a first time mom and due in June. I know you say it's temporary and an adjustment but from the comments I'm reading, it's still kind of disheartening.
I'll do my best though
