What We Know Warframe Lore - Corpus Guilds

Part of a possible series where I talk about Warframe's lore, and do some serious mental gymnastics to create potential links in the universe.

Ok, so I've put a couple of thousands hours into this game and never noticed any of this bar a few symbols here and there that I assumed meant nothing.

I'm not too sure about the insinuation that the Crewmen are tied into this "beecloud" hivemind, though. Especially given that Nef Anyo's claim to have risen through the ranks from a crewman, I'd argue that they're just what it says on the tin: crewmen, hired and paid to maintain things where robotics would fail or be less efficient.

As for the Darvo quote, it's possible the robotics have some autonomy, we don't have anything to suggest either way, but I think that it might be more a matter of just keeping them in line when they malfunction - something goes wrong in their wiring, activate the parasitic restraint and shut them down for reprogramming.

I also like to think this is why a lot of Corpus weapons - most notably the Prova - deal electric damage; short out or incapacitate malfunctioning proxies before they can damage themselves or other valuable goods to get them back to the lab for reprogramming without dealing unnecessary damage to them.

I can't help but look down on the Grineer after seeing this, and now I'm curious to see how the Grineer factions work as well as whether the Corpus crewmen are either independent or are literal proxies themselves. Great inspection.

The thing on the Bee Cloud logo is a kind of beehive known as a skep. The reason that might be interesting is that skep beekeeping which was common in Middle Ages Europe was that there was no way to remove the honey without destroying the entire colony.

I’m not going to claim that someone at DE used knowledge of middle age beekeeping when designing that sigil but skeps were a classic example of the adage, ‘Killing the cow to get the milk.’

And I think that really dovetails well for the Corpus ideology.

This is some very deep theorycrafting admittedly on the Warframe universe. I'd love to see you rip into the Grineer military structure, considering the various facets we've seen of them now and especially when the ocean tileset drops.

As far as how the corpus background works, I'm not gonna go out of my way to say you're wrong- hell most of this is circumstantial on where logos are located, and you admitted yourself accuracy is a bit sketchy- but there does seem to be a surprisingly small presence of the Corpus's reverence of technology in the analysis. Sadly this probably means there's not much video evidence of it, but it's been a semi-established fact that there's basically technology cults somewhere in the background of the Corpus- whether they are as all-encompassing and dedicated to exploiting the technology like a certain machine cult of another franchise is still remains to be seen and I hope that the further development of Nef Anyo will result in that getting some light.

I have an idea on the "beecloud." That crewman are connected into it to have some control over the robotics and for fast communication between personnel (like the codec from metal gear.)
