Warframe's story condensed into a concise retelling and it's still an hour long. I love it.

“The void was discovered by a guy named albrect entrati, but that’s not really that important”

That aged like milk lol

now between "orokin empire forming" and "lots of time passes" you have to put "some random shit happens in 1999"

I was having trouble remembering the old quests (returning player) and understanding the general integrity of the Warframe's lore. This video helped me a lot. Thank you so much.

What always throws me off with the warframe storyline is how we never are introduced to other Tenno. The lore and story appear to make it clear that our particular operator are not the only Tenno around. Yet all the story and plot reacts in such a way that our Tenno is the only operator around. Our Tenno gets sucked into a portal, thus Narmer takes over the solar system? All the other Tenno just said fuck it I guess?

On the question of Orokin modification and their over-sized arm, Ballas says (paraphrased) in a flashback "We Orokin offered our long arm of generosity". I believe the Orokin nobles were so arrogant and narcissistic that they actually had their arm modified to represent their "generosity"

Amazing video but I will say the part about the Zarimon keeping the void open is actually the opposite. The Zarimon is halfway inside the void, and halfway out. It's actually acting as a plug. If it were to pop out the void would cascade from the hole and destroy the origin system. We get told that by one of the holdfast members

The reason why Ballas reprogrammed Natah and seemingly let her keep the Tenno was because he wanted to reshape Natah into a new (not dead) Margulis. As a mimic, Natah could fulfill this desire if Ballas. But as Natah becomes more and more like the part of Margulis who hated Ballas's cild-hearted nature towards the Tenno, he hated Natah for not being the idealized version of Margulis he wanted her to be.

DE being like "oh finally, someone explained it so we can understand what we did"

My theory for why the best character in the entire game, Ordis, didn't actually "die" is because his little robot body thing is just a future-wifi connected roomba. He just didn't appear for a while because he was upset about having to use a giant space ship as a body and was quite enjoying being able to scoot about a bit

Minor points on Erra. A lot of stuff around him and his timline is pretty confusing, but I don't think his motivations are quite so vague. Based on his conversations with Ballas, what Hunhow says about him, and some of the comms we get directly from him during The New War, it seems to me that he chose to ally with Ballas mostly because he saw his father as a failure. After all, they did lose the Old War pretty hard once the Tenno showed up. He comes across as a rebellious youth, rejecting the old, outdated ways of his parents. His turn against Ballas seems pretty well explained too, based on his dialogue when you first meet him in Praghasa. Erra was totally cool with just subjugating everything in the Origin System, but Ballas decided he wanted full genocide instead, which would include the Sentients. Erra wasn't cool with that, and decides to eat some humble pie and throw his lot in with the only person who actually has a chance at stopping Ballas--You.

When Erra "comes back" he CLEARLY has new giant red orbs in his eyes and his stomach, and look like Kuva. why does NOBODY mention this? He was resurrected using kuva, probably by Ballas in order to have a failsafe in his 4d chess of using the Lotus/Natah to take over the Pragasa ship.

she would be less likely to resist her own confusion if she sees her brother and it has the extra effect of making Erra loyal to Ballas for resurrecting him.

I'm a huge lore nerd, I think I have my Warframe stuff in order, but sometimes the timeline is a mess, and now with a paradox it's going to be a WHOLE lot messy, so this video it's a godsend. Thanks a lot!

I've always read it as the Zariman 10-0 that is currently present in the origin system appeared with the return of the drifter and the merging of the two timelines/realities. It's obviously the version that wasn't found way back in the orokin era, due to the state of the ship and some of the commants made by the ghost crew . This is why the lotus refers to multiple "returns" of the Zariman.

Also I think it’s important to note all the wayyyy at the start the orokin empire formed because they discovered the void after they observed it from a far. Says this in the void codex entry

Also the zariman lore bits you can find around the tile reveals the orokin rigged the void accident because the people where protesting the dangerous leap instead of small controlled jumps. Tuvul talks about this and so does yonta. And in the new war quest when the tenno say their pledges they say “we shall not fear to take the leap” which might be the orokin trying to condition them into not joining the protests etc.

Also in the zariman tilesets you can find smaller void people frozen in a protesting position

I really like how you setup the story, color-coded it and arranged it in a way that we can understand it. I appreciate the time you put into this. Really well done

It was implyed by Albrecht Entrati that one, or multiple, conflicts involving nuclear weapons in the past before the Orokin Empire
"It began long before us, we who now live our perfect and dull, endless lives. It began long before these moon-palaces and body-markets hurling around our golden sun. It began long before our light-coil thinkers, *our radiation wars*, our oil, smoke."
