The WORST MacOS Sequoia Feature… 🤨

Показать описание
Sometimes Apple adds “new features” that are simply just CONFUSING 🤨🤨🤨

For example, MacOS Sequoia adds a new “erase disk” option when you select an attached drive and every time it pops up for me it feels like it’s DANGEROUSLY close to an deleting all of my work for no reason 😂😭

Maybe we can move this further down the list because for the past month or so every time I go to remove a drive, just the SIGHT of it being so close to “remove” has been anxiety inducing

Or maybe I just need to be a “raw unplug” type of guy 😂😭

Surely, SURELY this has has a dialog pop up confirming your selection.

Even if so, it’s bad placement for sure.

It’s probably gonna pop out a prompt window

The "..." means it will pop up a window - most likely an "are you sure" dialog, or maybe it will just open Disk Utility

Windows has had this feature for almost 30 years now and I haven’t heard anyone complaining this far

(with the Eject button fitting right underneath Format…)

Did you see the thee dots at the end of an Option in a context menu? That means that there will be a follow-up popup and that the action will not be triggered immediately

OMG You know how much my heart dropped over the same thing? I’m using beta and I was not ready for that. I was like “has it always been there?”

There are 3 dots beside it. Meaning if u click it a new window pops up where u have to select further options so actually nothing will happen if u click it by mistake

Wait... You guys safely "eject" your disks instead of just rawdogging them out of that port.

It prompts a dialogue so an unintentional erase is very unlikely to happen. And although it seems a bad placement, actually erasing the disks were a somewhat complicated thing for MacOS users for a long time. Since you had to launch an app under the “utilities” folder. And make a few selections. It was hard for a daily browser user at least. I think they just wanted to add a selection which the users can use to go the Disk Utilities app.

If you accidentally clicked on the erase button will a confirmation pop up show up?

Apple have really forgotten about what made them so great a user interface driven company.

I like window's approach to this with the button you can place in your taskbar for ejecting disks
