Learn 3 Main Ways To Improve Your Chess Results Significantly

Take Your Chess Skills To The Next Level With High-Quality Courses

More than 50 million chess players have tried the dirty Scholar's Mate trick. It is the checkmating pattern where White plays 1.e4 e5 2.Qh5 (or sometimes 2.Qf3) Nc6 3.Bc4, threatening to checkmate with 4.Qxf7#.

In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov will share with you the top 5 most brutal ways to punish the Scholar's Mate attack. These counters are really aggressive that you'll get a powerful initiative and winning advantage in just a few moves.

Shockingly, even Magnus Carlsen has once tried the Scholar's Mate against an opponent who was rated 600 points below him, but the trick didn't really work for him.

Igor, thank you so much! Every other creator seems to show the qb3 line but as an intermediate I constantly get c3 and have to play a position that is out of my repertoire and honestly not practically that much worse at sub 2000 online. Qe7 and f5 have never even crossed my mind before. These response are much more aggressive and the punishing advantage is much clearer than after c3, bg7 etc. Thank you! Your videos are so instructive and clearly presented

My first successful defense against the scholars checkmate was knight to A3, my opponent didn't see it, tried to checkmate me and i took their queen

But this only works if you play E5 black pawn first. So I'm wondering what defense strategy you are playing here?

11:50, what happens, if knight is not backed? You can't take as rook will fall.

After nd4 in game 2, if white go to d6, what will be black's counter move?

Schools may have abolished corporal punishment, but you have restored it. Scholars beware!

I didn't really like the Qd2 variation because it blocks my bishop for the sake of holding on a pawn
