What Biblically Accurate Angels Look Like (And Why You Wouldn't Want to Meet One)

Angels have a reputation of being glorious and beautiful, but is that really the case? In today's episode, we'll be analysing several of the angels from the bible, biblical apocrypha and the classification of angels made popular by Christian mythos. When we look at the angels such as the Cherubim, Seraphim and the Ophanim, we start to realise how terrifying these creatures really are and how like us, many biblical characters also expressed the same wonder and concern. Where many angels do maintain the more humanoid appearance that we've come to expect, some of these angels look like they belong in a completely different mythology... or a horror movie.

After my son died, he was a Christian, I told God I could not make it and was uncontrollable crying. I looked up in the clear still sky filled with stars. A white figure slowing come down from heaven and stayed above me for about 3 minutes. I knew it was one of Gods angels telling me that my son is with Him and he is wonderful. The peace and happiness I felt is nearly indescribable. It lifted my heart, my sadness, my whole being, and I knew God was speaking to me. He saved my life. God is all. I dedicate my life and my love and my all to Him. What a beautiful glorious miracle God gave to me and I thank Him always. I love Jesus and God with all my heart and all my being. Glory to God.

The most common thing first said by angels to a person is "fear not ". That right there should tell you something about seeing one face to face.

I was visited by the Seraphim angels. It was like a panel of 100’s of them right in front of me, but I could still see the room behind them. My eyes did not blink and I felt the tears flowing down my cheek. They said “he chose you”. It was the most beautiful and aspiring thing I had ever experienced in my life. Angels have never been depicted as evil looking. They are powerful awesome creatures they can be fearsome to see, but never are they seen as evil or demonic looking.

I have always believed that angels don't in any way resemble human beings. This for me is backed up in Scripture. Whenever an angel encounters a human being the first thing he says is: "Don't be afraid."

When I was 5 yrs old I asked Jesus to allow me to see angels. I was praying as if I wanted to see unicorns 🦄 One day I came home from school (grade K), started to walk down the hallway that leads to my room, and I saw angels coming out of my room somewhat floating to our bathroom, but facing forward towards me. I didnt see facial features, but their faces were looking right at me. You would think a child would have bn afraid. However, I felt a sense of calmness, leaned on the wall in a daze, and sat my bookbage next to my legs. Once I broke from my daze, I ran to my mother, who was sitting outside on the porch talking with the next door neighbor, and loudly and excitedly said "Mommy those ppl, those colorful ppl!" Alarmed, She was like, "What ppl?" I was like, "those colorful ppl!" She said you saw angels and you prayed for Jesus to show you ❤️ I tell you all the truth, it was way to many of them to count, but they were shaped like different sized ppl (without hair), they had no wings, and the shapes were filled with that look that the old model tvs had when a station didn't have reception or a channel and it made that noise, but not the Black and white type channel less stations, the colorful one. So, basically it was they were colorful and were different sizes. 33 years later and I can still see them so vividly in my mind. No one have to tell me that Jesus/God and His Angels are real. He Blessed me, as a 5 yr old pure hearted child to see them for myself because I asked and Believed He would ❤️

I am not aware of seeing and angels but I definately have felt their energy around me. I felt one in my hospital room, right after the doctor told me my son might not make it through the night. I noticed the curtains move towards the door and felt a light breeze. I knew at that moment my son would be fine. He was. I held him for the first time one week later. :):)

I was once saved by a warrior angel during a demon attack; he was the color of a penny and had a green garmet on. Short wholly hair and fire were his weapon. I remember his "Roar" still to this day when he burnt up the demon.

I tried explaining about it with a few people, that according to the Bible, the truest form or appearance of angels especially the ones nearest to God's throne are not like the ones we just imagine. My cousin, insisted she'd seen an angel when she experienced death a few minutes during birth. I told her it was probably the group of angels that God assigned to be near to humans so appearing human in form to not scare us somuch.

I think angels appear to their beholder in whatever form suits the purpose best. The angels that appeared to the shepherds over Bethlehem need not look like the ones that Ezekiel or Elija had seen.

I've heard an interesting theory that some angels have half man, half animal features. And this is why so many ancient civilizations worship such entity's, when the fallen angels fell, it is likely they still looked in some degree how they appeared in heaven, but with no more light.

I always felt their appearance would be difficult to comprehend by human eyes. Some of the old depictions of them in old artwork is quite alarming, even creepy and they don't really resemble anything you've seen before, otherworldly and monstrous feels accurate.
The one that looks like multiple interlocking wheels with many eyes is a good example of this.

For those who are unaware, Angels look the way they do as a representation of God’s imagination and offers a deeper perspective into how everything is connected and his love for Israel.

The Cherubim with 4 faces are actually modeled after the tribes of Israel. Which faced in the 4 cardinal directions.
