i have had my power pro on my baitcaster for close to a year now probably first spool ever put on that reel with braid and i have never broke off or lost a fish and it looks frayed but it holds up amazing i use 30lb moss green no leaders straight braid i recomend power pro

I catch plenty of Bass tying even bright green braid directly to my bait. My waters are dingy though. I would use a fluorocarbon leader if I was fishing clearwater.

Has anyone ever tried what the video said, using straight braid for a dropshot. I use a Carolina rig most of the time here in Cali. 40lb hi-vis yellow mainline and color about 7' with green marker. 1/2 oz weight and a three foot, 12lb kastking moss green braid leader. I have not notice any bass shying away from my rig. However that is dragged on the bottom so less likely it would spook fish. Drop shotting I'm not so sure but would like to hear if others have tried it.

i use 4 lb test mono.
thinking of getting 10 lb braid since its about the same diameter

I’ve been a little reluctant in recent years to go back to braid. I used to use it back in the day (and actually caught my personal best in half a foot of water at high noon, under a tree using a frog on braid back in the 90s).

Switched back to all mono for no particular reason. Once I considered getting back into braid, I looked it up and guys are using leaders, fluorocarbon, all sorts of nonsense nowadays...maybe they always have and I just didn’t have google back in 93. I’ve never liked playing with that stuff. That being said, I’ve decided I’m gonna toss some on my casitas and see what’s doin. Why not...I’m gonna have to be dragged kicking and screaming into using a leader, though. As far as I’m concerned, the only rod of mine that’s ever getting a leader is my fly rod.

Is 30# braid overkill for multi types of fishing? I think the 10# test I was using was too light for the weight I was using and I was breaking line left and right on the cast. I LOVE bass fishing as i caught my first bass a week ago and I have lost too many fish and lures on that 10# even with my drag set correctly. Any input would be great

So i bought 20lb braided line without knowing anything and when I casted the line broke and I lost the lure.. Was that a mistake to buy a low pound line?

My reel says 8 to 12 lb line but what if I get 15 lb line what would happen?
