We see both sides of a heavy rock train as it works its way up a long, curvy hill. The train thought it could make it but it was just too heavy. Norfolk Southern has stalled on this grade many times also. We see the Cincinnati Eastern Railroad in Mount Orab and Williamsburg, Ohio. Check out the awesome locomotives that they have. Plenty of train horn and a friendly wave from the engineer. After the train stalled it backed up a short distance to clear the crossings and then was cut into two pieces. The hopper cars are loaded with rock and had to be moved in two sections to Afton Yard.
Also included is a CSX train going up another grade. This is a fast train with a few locomotives including rival power. The train has a strap dragging near the end of the train. That shows you why you shouldn't stand too close to moving trains. It is seen at Sidney, Ohio on the CSX Toledo Sub. The other trains in this video are on the Norfolk Southern Peavine Line.

You’re one hardcore dedicated railfan, Jaw Tooth. No matter the weather conditions, you’re out getting the best footage of trains both the CCET short line around your neck of the woods and out on the road shooting the major railroads somewhere. That WAS a heavy load for that one locomotive on the icy, snowy tracks. Seeing that little switcher leading and that shave and a haircut horn salute was cool, too.

When I saw that loose strap kicking up rocks, I was hoping that none of the rocks hit anyone, including you.

Thanks for braving the weather for another great CCE video. I'm still an advocate of more power. They will need the 4 axil locomotives for the increased traffic at Purina. Great video of the CET that had a HEFTY load of Stone that I figured wouldn't make it up the hill. That GP15 was really working hard. Glad to also see the MP15 heading up the other train. Then to see the CSX train with their long consist of mixed freight cars! Nice job JT and thanks for sticking it out in the cold for us! Cheers from Laurel, Delaware USA.

It is always nice to see Jessie with you in the truck as it brings back fond memories of when my dog, Gypsy, would go with me everywhere. I had a small station wagon at the time and I would put carpet remnants down for her to run around to all the windows and of course, during the winter time it helped keep her feet warm but she preferred jumping in my lap to look out.
