This is terrible advice. Dandruff is caused by your body's attempt to kill yeast. Your body is intentionally drying out your skin in order to shed the yeast that's growing on your skin. Conditioner is extremely alkaline (high ph), which will only help yeast thrive on your head. If you have dandruff and you put a bunch of conditioner on your head, you're going to make the dandruff and itching even worse. It's like creating the perfect atmosphere for yeast to grow - dark, moist, and alkaline. If you want to get rid of the dandruff and itch, you have to treat your head with a solution that is acidic enough to kill the yeast. That's why dandruff shampoo contains salicylic ACID.

a possibility hair also tends to get ichy on 3rd day, so a solution is to shower to reset hair. if its ichy all the time then yah you might want to take action.

Do you mean a regular conditioner or a scalp conditioner because I heard you’re not usually supposed to use regular conditioner on the scalp and only the hair ends

The scalp is very sensitive to changes in ph level. Normally the scalp and skin is slightly acidic. When it becomes too alkaline, you get dryness and itchiness accompanied by yeast and fungal growth. A hair rinse made of diluted apple cider vinegar will offset the alkaline and kill the yeast and fungi. It works very well and in not expensive at all.

i too tried many home remedies for dry and itchy scalp, but after my friend suggestion i switched Thrive to scalp hair kit. It's a combo of scalp scrub and serum which exfoliates scalp deeply and prevent scalp dryness and rejuvenate it. My scalp gets very dry every winters and this winters it has become my saviour.

Use the juice of a yellow onion and a bit of apple cider vinegar diluted in water. Put pour it on the scalp (or use a spray bottle or scalp applicator bottle); cover with a shower cap and leave it in for at least 1 hour. Results may vary, so use consistently about once every week.

To cover up the smell, mix it with lemongrass oil or lemon oil (or juice).

Use a sulphate-free shampoo if you can.

This doesn't fix my problem, i use pantene and i have used it for years, then when i was 13 i started having dandruff. I then switched to 'Clear' it was quite good, my dandruff was reduced, BUT THEN my hair runs dry after two years of using it. Now im back to pantene, my hair is becoming smooth and silky again BUT THEN MY HEAD IS ITCHY AGAIN. HOW TF-

Since we got a lot of free time I have been trying out different treatments for this dandruff..one thing which is very important before these treatments is it's better to remove all your hair..trust me guys it's very important and it take 10-20 days to remove it completely will update if anything works..
