It was never the goal of science to disprove god/s and still is not. When you state as fact a god exists you are admitting to having the proof that establishes it to be fact and when you don't have the proof you are essentially lying, because proof should have been the only thing that led you to make the claim.

As a catholic, I don't recommend using this argument. Although true, when an atheist hears this, they can very truthfully say, it's an argument from silence. I recommend watching (for both thiests and atheists) to watch debates on God, featuring trent horn. He is a respectful catholic apologists who looks at things in a logically sound way.
