This is region specific. There are some areas of the US where this is not accurate.

Filipinos are also very expressive, but it's all for show. You don't know what's really in their minds. You need the highly sensitive introvert to really figure them out.

That is not an American thing...its western thing. I also noticed this when I first came to Canada. I quickly adapted and have done the same. I always make eye contact with people I am passing by and smile, nod my head, say hello...good morning, and sometimes even start a conversation. I love being Canadian but excessive immigration specially the type that does not want to integrate has changed Canada.

Its the same way here on Latin America, people are so expressive and talk so much to strangers.

While it is in part just to be kind and friendly, there can be other reasons as well. Threat assessments, business deal potential, or as a student, potentially someone to study with or do HW, etc.

"How was your day?" is only said by close friends where he comes from? Sounds like a cold, unfriendly country. That's a pretty innocuous question.

The racial stereotypes are very shallow and off putting. It’s easy to brand someone the same as another but it takes an insightful person to see that EVERY individual is different

Israelis are also super expressive! I think there’s a warmth to it that people don’t see from the media.

That’s because we live in a High Trust society, which is decreasing every day now. The US will rip itself apart sooner or later.
