Just ordered this book. Can't wait to get it! The first of it's kind on the history of African-American aesthetics. Great that a dancer wrote this book. The majority of these Africanisms were passed down through the body since the enslaved people came off the ships with nothing not even clothes on their backs. The body is a powerful container and transmitter of knowledge. I thank the author for making the effort to write a book on an immense subject thats been given a little too much academic attention that is interdisciplinary.
