In this video, I discuss what to do and consider after receiving a cortisone injection.

Cortisone is a strong anti-inflammatory medicine used to treat a variety of conditions in Sports Medicine. It is one of our most popular injection options. It is used to treat osteoarthritis, tendinitis, tennis elbow, and more.

One of the most important things to be aware of is what to do AFTER the injection. In this video I break down my post-cortisone injection protocol for patients.

I’m a 70 yr old senior citizen. I live in Victoria BC. This morning I had a cortisone injection in my right hip for Bursitis. I have no idea how I got it or what I might have done. I thought the bursitis was painful! The injection was extremely painful! I was so surprised by this and the pain since I had it. I’ve had headaches coming and going all day and evening. I was originally hoping to get out on buses to get some groceries tomorrow, but have a feeling I won’t be going far. I truly hope this shot works after all this pain. Thanks for shattering info. Very helpful. 😊

Just had a wrist injection. This is extremely informative. Thank you. My doc was a man of few words, so most of this was not communicated.

Watching this video the night before my injection for GTPS 😢 the pain has brought me to tears many times. This video was helpful in letting me know what to expect.
PRAYING I only need one infection and can finally focus on full range of movement and the treatment of building glute muscles without pain can FINALLY begin

Thank you for explaining this because now it makes sense why my INR readings were all messed up, and still having to test more than once a week to stay in range. I suspected the cortisone had seeped into the bloodstream, and you confirmed it. Didn't realize it was 5-10%. Anyone on warfarin should be aware of this. My first shot in one knee was fine, but years later having both knees done at once is where I saw the reading go way high, and I had to adjust dose.

Received a Cortizone shot on my knee. I couldn’t even walk prior it was unbelievable and still had to work. After the Cortizone shot, there was no more pain. Like miracle. If only I can get one every three months for the rest of my life instead of getting knee surgery.

Let me know how you like this new format. Im planning on doing a deep dive into my post-procedure instructions. I am also going to review the various procedures I perform and the science behind them. Is there anything you want to see?

I had a pain in my left ankle for the past 13-14yrs.
My doctor gave me a shot today, the pain was gone in less than 30 seconds.
I'm still pain-free after 24hrs.

It’s been 5-6 days since my cortisone shot and immediately I felt relief but I’m thinking now that it was the lidocaine that gave me such relief bcuz it has now left my system and I’m feeling some sort of discomfort or pain is on its way. I’m going to see if I can walk in the office tomorrow and get some answers/concerns addressed as to if what I’m feeling is normal. I took a ibuprofen a while ago and hopefully I’ll be able to sleep thru the night.
Thanks for listening…

Good Morning to Everyone! I had two shots yesterday at 2pm. I've waited for this day! Got shots it Both hips. My sugars went up. I dealt with that then. But I guess it takes a couple of days to be All good I'm waiting patiently to be able to walk although I have other body issues to deal with too. I'm not down for surgery of any kind. .yet. it's working it's way through my body as we speak! I pray that it's a better ride to my children this July 4th! Have a happy holiday..pain Free?

I'm 53 & have been getting Cortisone shots in both knees for Arthritis. I had my shot yesterday in my left knee. I was wondering how much excersise is too much? I walk up the stairs at home but thats all I've been able to do right now.I've been trying to bend my left knee, but its still very painfull. I'm worried if I don't do any stretches it won't heal as fast. Your videos are very informative.❤
