It is not an office, but a school exam room :

Its a very special French IT school called "Ecole 42", this kind of room is used for the entrance exam called "La piscine (the swimming pool)". The candidates must do code exercise in C during 3 or 4 weeks with little break times, week-end included.
The exam is not only a code skill test, but also a mental test. So they use this kind of room to add some mental pressure on the candidate.

I come from their "rival" school Epitech, which have also this kind of entrance exam. It is not that bad, as long as you love coding.

In French IT, 42 and Epitech are either loved or hated.
