actually when you first boot up the phone for the first time it gives you a tutorial on how to use the gestures, including the pull down settings menu. I actually know a few people who are ditching their iphones for the Z10 because the iphone is gotten VERY stale

the z10 at least looks good and the touch works great. Blackberry has one nice phone now and at least its not as bad as the Q10 they came out with.

I don't think there is an inconsistency for swiping up. I think it's actually intuitive that you swipe from the bottom to the top regardless of the orientation of the device.

And about the swiping up from the bottom part in landscape, that's like saying the notification bar in Android or iOS should ALWAYS come down from the top of the phone, even in landscape.. Doesn't make sense

Too many flaws and shortcomings still. The competition is FAR ahead at this point and this phone will most likely not sway any devoted fans of the other platforms.

I have all of them personally, except for BlackBerry. I can completely switch to any of the 3 other ecocystems on demand, with laptops, desktops, phones, tablets and other goodies as I please.

Not so with BlackBerry. NONE of the apps I use and need are there. Only phones available, the PlayBook is a relic at this point. Not ready!
