I bought a couple of things from Aliexpress. A class 'A' preamp and a nap200. Both pieces are really good. Especially the preamp which is also meant to be a John Curl design. I am convinced that a lot of gear with brand names are not any better and you are probably only paying for the name.

Chinese brands now already dominate the mkt - Doge, Willsenton, Kinki Studio, Denafrips, SMSL, Matrix Audio, Boyurange, Line Magnetic …. etc. They don’t need to clone anymore but it still exists. Chi fi has grown up and in a few years time will cream everyone except spkrs. Components are cheap and labour too. It’s not rocket science, most components are already made in China anyway.

I own the clone A65. It sounds really good. It's sounds like my 300b except it's got tons of energy for my usher be20's woofers. A clone that sounds this good makes me wonder how much bettter could the original ones sound.

sb accustics speakers are made in asia, does it mean the speakers are no good ? check out your car parts and see where most of them are made.

The Chinese copy's can easily be the original. Some do make extra by the side, that they sell out of the "back door" other is just stolen brand names. China do not have to follow the copyright rules. How would you punish them?
If Accuphase did say, "if you don't stop copying us, we wont let you make them anymore". The fabric would just laugh and say "good luck getting your gear produced in an other country for the same money".
And USA's government can't do a thing, what should they do? Declare war?

Having items built in China myself and shipped to U.K. I can tell you depending how much you order you can get the casings outer shell complete for these big power amps for as little as $50 in any finish.

The components inside even in the UK and US are cheap, from a few cents to the transformers at maybe couple hundred dollars or in China about $20.

So it stands to reason a big power amp made in China with a $50 shell and a couple hundred components costing very little will be so cheap.

You need to educate yourselves first and think about where they are made and actually look at what goes into them and to be honest, not a lot.

It's not possible that they use the name accuphase.
It's a fake from a criminal groupe and every country has different laws about how much it is forbidden to buy them or sell them, depending of the country. In my country, such goods can be confiscated at the border, and very probably will.
From the sound, there is no reason why the sound should be worse, unless they messed up the circuit. The goal of accuphase is to give perfection, not absolutely for the sound, but for the reason that they are accuphase and do perfectly executed stuff, it's a mindset that is very respected in Japan and they are in line with it. But you will still have the same sound on a much less glorious made amp. I have an Accuphase C-2410 preamp ; during years I used my Nad power amp section to run the sound into my PMC Fact8. It worked well and there is nothing wrong with it.

You're doing a great job Mr.
Love watching all your videos.

Is it possible for you to get your hands on the Dussun amplifiers ?
Would love to know what you think about them. I'm hinting towards the v6i.
Cheers.

For 2700 USD you can buy original accuphase. Price for this imitation is ridiculous

I usually do not comment but you do not know what's you are talking about. Your problem is that you were looking for Mao Rollex and it was too expensive for you and you do not know what the real amplifier is.

Theyre caps not pots. And even thou it says nippon on them they can easily be fake.

When these Chinese companies 'clone' an Acuphase, Levinson, Dartzeel, MBL, etc, they do not claim to be cloning the entire amp, part for part. They are cloning the circuit topology.
The end result will most likely not sound as good as the original, but since the circuit is great design, the end result will sound extremely good.

Will a cloned Acuphase sound as good as a 15 year old used amp? No, but it will probably sound a fairly high percentage of the original. And it will most likely sound better than a contemporary new amp of the same price.
My friend bought a Chinese MBL clone preamp ($300 shipped) as a temporary preamp after his main CJ preamp died. I can't claim it sounded as good as the original MBL, but it sure sounded good!

Price you pay for manufacturing and sourcing parts from China. It doesn't take a genius to piece the available parts together.

It's the propaganda that makes us think Chinese hi fi is not good. I had a preamp and a power amp from China and they sound superb. Another hybrid amp beats any japanese or British amp at a quarter of the price.
Before this i had expensive amps and sold them off as i was looking for the sound I was used to as a band player. Try chifi and you won't be disappointed.

The Chinese are copiers, not inventor's

Those boards are obviously inferior. Accuphase uses Teflon.

Why don’t you look at reviews? One guy on a forum said his Chinese Dartzeel was awesome

the look is nice, and to be honest, if the caps are at least OK, I'd get these just for the enclosure, even if hte amp itself is not the super high end electronics the companies have. I doubt these are junk amplifiers, but absolutey don't expect the quality of the super high ends you spend tens of thousands of dollars/euros. I will say this, the parts for these amplifiers are MUCh easier to aquiare then the super high ends, you can probably order some of these caps for a few dollars each from China if one of the caps do burn out (even high end amps blow out their caps, getting high end caps from old amps are very hard and expensive), so as long as the engineering in the audio components are good (just not exquisette like they are in the ultra high-fi real thing) they should sound decent and most people will be happy spending a fraction of the price and fairly cheap to fix if they do have minor faults.

Customs will charge you for VAT and import taxes (if they pass it through as it is an illegal copy, due to European laws). But me too I'm very curious about this. Might be better as we expect...
