My dad is a huge John Lennon fan. I was born in the late 80's and grew up with the Beatles. My dad would constantly talk about this day. He was so upset he never got to see John Lennon live. I will forever listen to John Lennon and remember my dad. Thank you Chris and Amy for your consistency, sending you both much love.

"Should he be released?" Hell no! Never in this lifetime! 😫

John Lennon was shot the day after my 20th birthday. And every year we remember him. Thank you for covering John Lennon, today. Very appropriate choice and timing. Truly a great loss to the world. Chapman should stay locked up for the rest of his life. He is still a threat to others. I can especially empathize with Yoko and Sean and Julian, in feeling threatened by his possible release.

I was 15 at the time. Still remember the shock it gave me. Please no parole for the man who took John’s life and the world’s musical glory

Earlier that night I was washing pots and pans in my college dining hall, and I heard something on the radio. I tried to make everybody be quiet because I had heard something had happened to a Beatle - I thought Paul. But no one else had heard anything. Because NOTHING had happened at that point. I spent the rest of my shift extremely upset and worried. When I finished all the kitchen clean up and prep and headed up to my room, everyone was stopping me -- "Did you hear? Did you hear?" I had not heard, but somehow I had known. It was the eeriest thing that's ever happened to me. It was a real loss of innocence for so many of us who were too young to have experienced all the traumas of the late 1960s and early 1970s. It was a terrible blow for everyone. Thank you for a thorough recap (as usual).

One of those terrible days where you remember where you were and what you were doing. Still devastated 41 years later. Thank you for acknowledging this musical loss. Well done, as always! Much love and peace....

MDC had followed John for a very, very long time, which disturbs me to no end. He was like a dark shadow in John's life but John never knew this... until the very end. May John rest in peace.

Freddie Mercury had just heard the news in London at a Queen concert, which was then Dec 9. They played “Imagine” at that concert

A man who kills because he read a book will always be a danger to society. Please keep him locked up.

I was 20 years old and working in Sydney the day John Lennon died. Someone heard a news flash on the radio and within a couple of minutes people in all the buildings in Martin Place were hanging out the windows crying. That night my husband Martin and I listened to John's music all night including his new album, Imagine, and this music fest went on for many days. I'll never forget the day John Lennon died, It broke my heart into little pieces along with millions and millions of people around the world. Thanks heaps Chris for bringing the memories of the special man who only wanted one thing, peace! 🇦🇺😔💔

Such incredibly sad circumstance. I was born in 1983, but my mom spoke of this day often. Very well done video!

John's death profoundly affected me as a teenager, he was my hero. Then 10 years ago, my lovely Dad died on December 8th, so it's a tough date. Chapman should never be allowed to be part of a society that loved John so keenly. Thanks for this video, really good.

I was a senior in high school when this happened. I heard the news first thing the next morning, such a sad and terrible day. Imagine the music he would of made if he would of lived. 💔

I remember that day in 1980 very, very well. It was truly horrendous. As for his killer, he looks to be pretty pleased with himself recounting his movements that day. The dude is evil. What got him that way is for the shrinks to figure out and they won't, cause evil just is. RIP, John Lennon.

What a nut case. It's so creepy how calm he is describing this! R.I.P, John.

I hope when Yoko Ono passes away that John's children continue to write letters to the parole board and make sure that this creep stays locked up.
