When Jack gives John a hug in this movie, it feels like he does that representative for millions of people in the world.

"How old are you?"
"78."
"Fantastic! You made it to 78..!"
I cried.

“You said “happy” that means successful”

What a brilliant quote

I just love the sequence, "Have you had a happy life?" "Very." "But not successful?" "I just said, 'Very Happy.' That means 'successful'." Both simple and profound.

I remember when I saw this in the theater: People literally gasped when he opened the door. He really looks so much like Lennon if he were still very much alive.

The part where Jack got emotional and said, “You made it to 78” was one of the saddest lines. We all wished he was alive today.

"tell the girl you love that you love her, and tell the truth to everyone" no better words ever spoken. Fills my heart with joy.

I expected Ringo or Paul to open the door my jaw dropped when it was John. And Robert Carlyle was a great casting choice! 10/10 I love it and cried.

Jack's just crying and is so happy to see John, and he's just confused, not realizing that he was supposed to be dead 40 years ago

I remember that old quote from John... this hit so hard

Robert Carlyle is such an underrated actor. He can go from a vicious Francis Begbie to a serene old John Lennon.

Like others, I remember the wave of surprise when that door opened. For the briefest of moments, John was alive again. One's suspension of disbelief took a momentary vacation and that was alright. The ensuing dialog was weirdly cryptic, but it didn't matter. John made it to 78.

Here's a thought - the fact that cigarettes were never invented in this parallel universe means there's a good chance George would have still been alive as well.

I love how John Lennon goes on a walk and talks about life with a weird stranger because that’s totally what he’d do in that scenario

One of the rare scenes that brought me, literally, to tears. Just goes to show you don't need a $200 million budget, huge movie stars, big explosions, and fancy SFX to make a good movie.

Talented actors. A clever script that avoids cliches. And a deft director is all you need.

Very emotional, like he's still alive and lives in the middle of nowhere, alone, in peace, and all hectic life is behind. Rest in peace, John.

This scene and the scene in Doctor Who when they took Van Gogh to the museum to see his work being displayed were one of the few times I was brought to tears by a show/movie. It’s always so touching seeing the happy alternatives to the sad stories we know.

I remember watching this movie in a theater, and my dad gasped when John Lennon showed up on the screen.
It was one of the most wonderful scenes in my life.

It’s strange to me to feel deep emotion for someone I’ve never met. John Lennon is the only person that’s ever done that to me.
