Thank you! In this video I’ll share with you the 4 most important steps you need to do to learn to swim effortlessly using a real life example, Marianna. As you will see, learning how to swim smoothly is hard, but once you have mastered it, it is a skill that is easy to keep your entire life.

On this day I asked Marianna if she knew how to swim. She said "yes". She wasn't lying. But her definition of knowing how to swim was very different from mine.

Last year when I started swimming and watching this channel I couldn't go 25M without stopping. Now with practicing 3 times a week for 8 months I can do 1.2km in under 30 min. It's all practice combined with the techniques and motivational videos from this channel!

I’m absolutely shocked at how much better I’ve become in only 2 months.
These videos have been part of that. Thank you!

I have learned a lot from your videos, as well as from the Ocean Walker. I use what I have learned from both, as well as from many others. Long story short: a year ago I could BARELY swim one 25 yard lap. Now I can do 280 laps (4 miles) without stopping. It takes me a while (3:30), but i am okay with sacrificing speed for distance. It is extremely satisfying at my age (72) to be able to swim 4 miles. Have fun everyone!

Same as millions of the viewers of your "arrow free style" video, I started my swimming self-teaching sessions since 2 years ago from someone who struggled to finish 25M breaststroke, which by that moment was my only kinda "know-how" stroke, to now a swimmer who can finish 2k session with all 4 strokes, 5 times a week without too much effort. My cycling background is supposingly contributing a lot in terms of cardio capacity, and is even improved by my swimming, I call it synergy, which is so great!

Thanks to your patient explaintion and all the 3D illustrations along with the logical analysis based on comparison and datas, skill N talents is not only one of my most beneficial YTB swimming channels, but also has being shared and translated into other languages, (Chinese in my case) for swimmers around the world.

Hope you guys doing great and of cause, swim fast!

Have been swimming on and off for 40+ years. Because of my sports and music background I knew that repetition of good technique was key. So, I would ask other swimmers and lifeguards for tips. They were all generous and helpful. I picked up books and watched video tapes as well.

Over the years I found I was able to go further and faster. My age is 71 and I do from 6 km to 9 km in 3 sessions per week. With a combination of breast and freestyle my sessions last between 1 and 1.5 hours depending on how hard I push. I do between 80 to 120 laps per session. Once I did 140 with full confidence I could have done 200 if deciding to do it. It took 2 hours to do 140.

Your videos have contributed to me making a quantum leap in my technique translating into a much improved and fun experience in my swimming workouts. Thank you very much. I am subscribed and watch your videos consistently. Cheers from New Zealand! 🇳🇿

I was her last March, couldn’t breathe and out of breath in one lap (sinking legs and no extension no rotation). I was retiring in July so I made a decision to hit the pool daily. I made to pool at least 5 to 6 times a week, mileage able 800 meters to now 1200 meters. At first I could breathe more naturally right side but had a hard time duplicating to left side. I kept on practicing bilateral breathing no matter how hard. I us snorkel and paddles to practice form and correct mistakes. I was self learning how to front crawl via youtube coaches. I also self learn how to breaststroke. Breaststroke came to me much faster. Once I had the mistakes corrected I have more stamina using breaststroke. Right now I continue to fine tune forms and breathing, with the goal of building endurance and stamina. I push myself a bit more everyday to finish a lap and turn around into the 2nd lap (I haven’t started learning flip turn). It was so hard at first but it got a little easier everyday.

I watch you videos constantly, and I was surprised to see Mariana kicking the same two beats kicks I learned from you, it is a brilliant move to ensure you keep your legs fresh for the cycling-running.

This video motivates me. I just started my swimming lesson (I'm 47-year age btw). This week will be my 5th meeting with my swimming coach. My goal is to be able to swim correctly and as a beginner it is so hard, just like this video shows 😃. Just great to know that I'm not the only one 😃.

Thank you so much. I have been swimming for some time and I got impatient thinking that it is not for me because of how much progress I was able to make during that time. But now I am less worried. I am going to keep practicing.

I love rewatching your videos to gauge my progress. I just started to use 25m pool. The session is only 45 minutes tops (last session, life guard has to clock out). I have to stop after each lap for breather. My total distance each session is about 1200m on average. I like the challenge of 25m course. It pushes me to be super mindful of form, pace, and breathing. I try to get a spot 5 days a week (many dedicated lap swimmers and limited sessions in winter time). I watch other swimmers doing laps non stop. I hope i can achieve that one day in 50m pool:)

Last month, I could barely complete a full 25 without stopping. Now I can swim a 50m in 33 seconds, now I can swim a 100m in 1:27 seconds, now i can swim a 400m without stopping. It may not be fast but it's a huge achievement.
