SO AS WE BREAK THE PARTICLES FROM OUR BREAKS GOES ONTO OUR WHEELS AND THE HEAT FROM THE BRAKE DUST STARTS TO EAT THE CHROME! SO WHAT WE HAVE TO DO IS CLEAN & WAX YOUR RIMS REGULARLY! I clean mine once a week with chrome cleaner. I hope that is enough. There is a little bit of pitting. It may have been there when I bought the car.

I always heard using dish soap removes the wax off the vehicle.

Dish washing liquid is the best product to wash the ENTIRE vehicle with. I prefer dawn, brakes down grease pretty good. Now as far as a wheel putting in 2 was is crazy. I have NEVER seen this in my 16yrs in the custom wheel and tire biz. He is correct as of what causes the damage but I personally have blk wheels and really don't have any issues. It's going to really depend on the wheel and if it has a great finish. Cheap is not always good.

There is no real way to keep your chrome from pitting. It's pretty much the nature of them. They will eventually pit

All DISH SOAP removes the wax & polish from your vehicles paint! Don’t use it. It also removes protectant you’ve put on your wheels & plastic. Since I stopped using dish soap my truck has a much better shine, water always beads off & there are no faded areas from the sun. I highly suggest using a soap that’s made for automotive paint, even the cheap stuff, because they don’t have degreaser in them like dish soap which is what breaks down the seal/barrier on paint & wheels.

I was told by my mechanic who had a body shop at the time dish washing liquid will strip away your clear coat.
