Agree with humour - it helps to relax beginner dancers and helps to make what can be a very frustrating thing, fun.
Number 4 - definitely agree, the best dancers don't always make the best teachers and the best teachers aren't always the best (even if they are still very good) dancers.
The only thing about possessiveness - I'd advise people to stick with one class/teacher at the very start otherwise the different teaching styles can get confusing for some people. But otherwise, we've said that people should try other classes and have recommended 2 or 3 locally (and to be honest, recommended one or two avoid, but said to try them and make up their own minds).
