There really should be a support group that meets by the front doors for people that are on trip 5+

Me when I had a dripping faucet that turned into replacing the whole faucet which turned into completely replacing the plumbing under my sink.

I love that with the loop and that final message at the end it seems this man is stuck in a never ending cycle of waking up in the morning optimistically ready to finish this project once and for all only for him to still have to go back 6 times over the course of 12 hours, over and over, until the end of time.

“He went back in the store at 8am the next day”

The first time I walked into my local plumbing store for a project on a house I bought, the owner looked at me knowing I was a casual and said, "do you know what you need for a plumbing project?" I said "yea, it's on my list." He replied, "a full tank of gas, because you'll be back again." 😂

I make a list, bring it in the store, never look at it and wind up spending money on projects I haven't considered starting. Hell, one time I went in, got everything I needed except the main ingredient. The wood. Hard to build a deck without lumber.

I taught my son (now grown) that "no home repair can be done with less than three trips to the hardware store."
He sent me this video.

Proper estimate for project completion:
Make your best estimate, multiply by two, add two hours, and add two weeks.
It WILL always take longer. Need to locate the right tool, then buy the tool, only then will you find the tool. Time spent looking in frustration, looking at ewetub videos, drinking, and putting the project off till tomorrow or the day after.

My father told me that he wanted to live 'Out in the country' and I used this exact scenario as the reason he should stick to the suburban sprawl. This same thing happens to him when he does BBQ, one time he was so focused on the spices he forgot the brisket altogether.

This was me building my fold down desk. I had one goal in mind: I wanted a small work station that could fold down from my wall and lay flat against it when not in use. Should only take an hour to cut the plywood, attach a few hinges, screw in some supports, and get that all properly anchored. It took like 3 trips to the hardware store and several hours of my time for reasons that I cannot comprehend.

That's why you buy every option at the beginning and return what you don't end using

I worked at a hardware store a decade or so ago and sometimes I'd see the same person up to 5 times a day lmao 🤣😂

Thought a buddy and I would spend a full Saturday building a shed/chicken coop.

We are on our 3rd weekend, and have run out of shingles.

Done that so many times! It really sucks when you're a long way away from the store. From home improvement to auto parts or happens often

This was me replacing my headlight bulbs, 3 trips to oreillys and ended up taking apart my grill and entire headlight assembly at 11:30pm on a Saturday

That time I bought every size screw out of pure rage but missed one... that I needed. Good news is I got a lot of projects done without even needing to go to the store even some projects that have like five different size screws because you know

Been there, done that. When a faucet replacement slated for 40 minutes requires several hardware store trips at 35 minutes a piece and the job time expands to 2 hours. That's why I try not to do jobs that where I clearly don't have the skill because it can take all day to do jobs when I do have a clue.
