The most amazing thing was that the store was pretty much intact and not broken into after being abandoned for 10 to 12 years.

Am I the only one that thinks Heavy D is becoming the new American pickers? It’s funny yet extremely interesting and entertaining. Keep it up boys

The camera panning through the store brought back memories of going into the old mom-and-pop hardware stores getting pretty much whatever was needed at reasonable prices from friendly and helpful people.

Used to work at a hardware store as a kid and this brings me back. Lots of key cutting, pipe cutting, pipe fitting and digging through serv-a-lite boxes with countless specialty nuts and bolts helping local folks find that perfect part for their projects. Great find!

I bought the hardware store in Turlock, CA when it closed in 1992. I had nuts and bolts in my shop that everyone in my area would use ( honor system) lasted for 29 years. Lost my home and shop in a fire, burnt to the ground. What a nightmare.

These random spur of the moment buys are some of the best episodes. They turn into kids in a candy store every time.

I think Hans lost his mind after he huffed that cleaner. You guys definitely don’t disappoint. 😂

This brought back so many memories of hardware stores growing up.
It is sad, like the end of an era. I am sure they will be missed.
I know of a couple of old school hardware stores and do my best to support them.
My favorite is a feed and hardware store where nails are still sold by the pound.
You have some real treasures in that load.

Ah, the memories of working in a small mom and pop hardware store. I mixed the paint and ran the cash register. There were no big box stores anywhere near, so this was the go-to place for seeds and garden supplies, tools of all kinds, chains, and locks. Small town and everyone knew you or was related somehow. And you could order parts for your vehicle or farm equipment. We always had cold ice water available and hot coffee. It sat right on Main Street. I swear that building had been there since the 1900's.

It is sad to see old hardware stores like that closed down.

Damn shame the small hardware stores like this are disappearing from our landscape...

Absolutely beautiful truck. Should have showed the interior as well. Really like that y’all left the tool/storage box on the truck behind the sleeper.

I just wanna say as someone who’s family owns a hardware store that’s been open since 1871, it amazing the amount of stuff I spotted on the shelves that’s been there for decades is the same stuff we have that sits around on our shelves forever too.

Also we have that same exact paint mixing equipment, and red devil paint shaker. I don’t know what someone did to that poor paint shaker, but I can tell you the original base is missing, and the paint can flew out because it’s put together wrong. The clamps are supposed to cradle the paint cans sideways not vertically.

I love these videos. Watching Diesel Dave and Hans clowning around in these and Alan being like a child in candy store is the best. Also the cameramen and editors are a treasure. keep them at all cost.

I think this is great! I do take a few moments of sadness though.
This used to be a business. Somebodies pride, joy and hard work. Shame to see it picked apart like this.
That said, I hope some good use can come from the parts left and that the next tenant can make a success of it.
Thanks for taking us along.

OMG! You can't be taken anywhere without supervision! What have you done!"? That hardware store is a daunting task. So glad it's you and not me. At least the can shaker is all you broke (smile). Hans was doing something I always wanted to do with the calculator paper and the video tape. And guys, please never ever grow up!

There’s definitely some irony in the fact that y’all went to Home Depot to get bins and buckets to pack up the old hardware store…. Love this episode! And that w900 is drippyyyy 😍😍😍😍
