GOOGLE MAPS 3D TUTORIAL

when im in street view i usually have a big white block folloving the cursor and blocking the view, why is that? how to remove?

how do you get the 3D button above the + and - and location button?

"Hold down the shift-key. Click & scroll up" didn't work for me. However, clicking the "3D" button (under the compass) in the bottom left corner works - and is a lot more obvious. ;)
