As a Dr. In an alcohol treatment clinic.
I use Diazepam alot to tartrate the patient from alcohol.

If our patients go into a seizure (which is extremely common). We administer Lorazepam via IV to being the seizure to an end. Sometime we may have to administer up to 12mg of Loraz.

But the it stops the seizures.

If you take it on an empty stomach, chew up the pill, and then get it down dry, or with minimal liquids - the *intense fear* should begin to become less within about ten to fifteen minutes.

It did that yesterday for me, while waiting to be seen at a nearby *hospital dentistry* section of a large teaching hospital - and while dentistry isn’t normally that scary, the idea of having it done in a *hospital* setting - especially one where I’ve had work done in the past - is *terrifying.*

Once diazepam has been taken orally, over 90 percent of the drug will be absorbed within 15 minutes when you take it on an empty stomach. However, when food is present in your stomach, it can extend absorption time and feel its effects upwards of 45 minutes.

I’m not sure if I got prescribed wrong but I went to doctors today, to mention I’m going on holiday and get bad panic attacks a lot, doctor agreed and they gave me a prescription for 150 approx tablets at 5mg, I just collect 5 boxes from chemist in UK, I’m not sure if pharmacy messed it up or what but what a win

I love Valium and polaramine I get anxiety to the point I work myself up and fit (a lot of places won’t do dental because it’s a good chance I’ll have one) but with that combo I am sedated enough I will care a lot less and my heart rate will be low ….so it won’t push as much adrenaline….(ofc you should tell a dentist that beforehand ) it’s even to the point I havnt needed a needle since doing it ….that good of a result….also great in half tablet doses if you need blood tests ( yea i have pre bad needle phobia ) but that makes it so I won’t be happy at all about it but it’s somewhat better ….it can be a magical drug ….but don’t abuse it 1. It’s bad for you and 2. It makes it harder for us who actually need it down the track when they stop selling things or making things available due to drug dependency….use responsibly

It works differently for different people. Quickest benzos from Valium to Ativan and Klonopin ever worked for me is 5 minutes.

Thank you for this video. I was on Klonopin for 5 years taking 2mg up to 3 times a day and still felt horrible. I took one valium tablet and i felt a lot less anxious, but i felt really really tired

I tried going from 1 mg alprazolam 4xs daily to 10 mgs diazepam 4 times daily. I couldn't do it. Withdrawals were awful. I was told I wasn't given the correct dose to switch over. 😢
