Went naturally with my first but went with a membrane sweep with my second because they wanted to induce me and I did NOT want that. She swept three times around 🥴 definitely uncomfortable but glad I went that route. She said there was a little blood but I never saw any. Lost my mucus plug a few hours later. My contractions started 13 hours after the sweep and I had him 7 hours later!

I just had membrane sweeping done successfully a few hours ago. this was the fourth try. in the previous 3 times, the cervix was not open yet. Today it was 1-2 cm open and 1 cm thick, so there is definitely some change. I am exactly 40w pregnant - it is my due date - with our second. I went for a short walk and I have some cramping since.. we will see how it goes 🙏

I had my first membrane sweep at 41+1 and had false labor that night. Second sweep at 41+3 and went into active labor 1 hour later. My baby was born in less than 24 hours!

I gave birth 6 days ago, 8 days overdue. I was stripped 3 times in the span of 5 days! I was worried about the pain, but it was just mildly uncomfy! I had 3 different nurses do it and they all said the same thing "wow youre though!"😂

My OB didn’t want to do it because she said I wasn’t dilated at all…..I was induced at 41weeks & I was .5cm at that time.

Had mine done today went from 1.5cm dilated and 50 pecent effaced to 2cm. Ita been 8hrs and ive been cramping none stop. But i also forced myself to walk around my neighborhood ❤❤ so we shall see.
Im also 39 weeks. ❤❤❤ baby number 2.

Had it done exactly 72hrs ago when I was 38 weeks and 1 day. I will repeat if I am still pregnant at my week 39 appointment. The reason I am willing to do it is because I cannot be induced and I cannot go beyond my due date. So I have a c section scheduled for my due date. I want to avoid the c section at all costs. My last c section was an emergency and SO traumatizing.

This worked with my last baby. I went into active labor within 13 hours after having it done.

My on did this with out asking me and it hurt me so bad it was only supposed to be a check to see how far along I was so not happy with that

Oh my ob just did it without my consent today! Her gloves didn’t look sterile. They were out of the open box on the table. I’m 38 w 3 days and didn’t know what she was doing. She said I was closed and 50% soft and she managed to get her fingertip in. I was bleeding a lot after she let me go. Still very frustrated and stressed! Can’t stop crying! I didn’t want it to happen at all, I wanted to wait until 39 or 40 w at least . And she said there’s no risk

Do you have to be a certain amount dialated? I’m 40w5d and only 1/2cm dialated but 50%effaced. Could i get a sweep if still the same at my next appointment?

First time mom I’m 40 weeks and 3days pregnant Today 12/18/2023 and had this done unknown to me today at my OB appointment this morning and I can’t stop cramping painfully for hours now the pain just got a little better this evening but it’s still there but not compared to earlier during the day and also every time I go use the bathroom I’m seen some red discharge that looks like mucus on the tissue a lot, hopefully I’ll get into labor tonight or anytime early this week because I’m not trying to get induce.

Can you have your water broken and do a membrane sweep ? Is there a point of doing both?

For both of my labors I did this. First labor was under 24 hours second labor 4 hours 😅

I had 6 membrane sweeps with my 3rd and it did nothing 😭 ended up getting induced 10 days before due date and he was 9lbs 😂 I had one with my 2nd and it maybe worked I was 4.5cm at my appt so idk if it worked or if I was already going to go into labour
