Love this idea of lunch making stations.
I just watched a video from 7 months ago with you and the minimal mom. It brought tears to my eyes when you talked being misunderstood as a child with ADHD. My granddaughter has ADHD, autism, and cerebral palsy. My grandson has ADHD with impulsivity. Both are often misunderstood. It is heartbreaking to watch them try so hard to live up to the expectations of others. I think you are so brave to talk about your ADHD. I feel if more people would be open about it the kids wouldn’t have to suffer as much. Thank you for sharing about your experience with ADHD. ❤🙏

Our family approach is the buy ingredients and then prepare things. So we wash and chop a lot. We would need to find a way to make the ingredients easier for kids to pack, grab and go. Thanks for planting the seeds for these ideas.

Haha Cas you just called me poor in About 47 languages 😂. But! The idea is solid, you gotta work with the space you have. We have a shelf in our living room (because our kitchen and apartment is small) and we call it the Schnack Pad - it helps my butterfly man have a designated area, in the open, where he can find snacks for lunch

I did the exact same thing for my kids years ago. I had two 3 drawer containers in my Pantry. And 2 containers for cold stuff in the fridge. My son had one and my daughter had the other. They made a grocery list of snacks they wanted. So when making their lunch boxes they could pick out what they wanted. We designated one drawer each for healthy snacks. Second drawer was a sweet or fun snack. Third drawer was their after school snack. And, I agree with her have kids make their lunches the night before. I had my kids set up their lunch boxes before they had their after school snack. We also talked about what they wanted for their main lunch item during the week. Do the same for their school clothes.

I'm a mother of 20+ year olds.

Been there.
Done that.
Never doing it again.😊😊😅😅

Good idea.

TBH, I cringed at seeing snack size plastic bags. These usually become one and done.😢 I remember washing them, to be reused. Back in my day, 😂😂 we didn't have the silicone bags.

I was glad to see the silicone bags in the fridge.

To all the parentals of school-age kids - have fun! 😂😂😂😂

Can MASSIVELY reduce waste, by making it teachable & fun, with reusables : think Stasher bags— only Now there are so many brands out there that won’t break the bank And are more like bowls, pouches, etc., that Stand Up… I luv! Also if a need for single-use/ disposable bags arises: go for sturdy, satisfyingly crinkly, sealing closure bags called lunchskins are Excellent: 100% compostable!! They come in all sizes (& feel nostalgic- winWIN 🥇

What about mini cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, snow peas, apples & bananas? Maybe a cheese stick... Those are easy for me to grab and take for lunch as a teacher.

I do a bowl of yogurt (actually so cheap/ fast/ ez to make), chia pudding, pudding, fruit… etc., then just serve into the container set ahead for a couple, or however many days at a time. I do this with salads think, any grains, I do chickpea salad.. if you consume fish then tuna… into an inexpensive set of up to 5 containers on SUN & pop in the fridge ready to go. Something generally quick, but with a plan- & way more healthy for my so much needed energy.
