As a 31 year old with no children, I think it's really great that you're teaching them how to prepare/plan meals for themselves at such an early age. I grew up in an asian household and my Mom also had a daycare in our home so all of this was done for us all the time, even into our teenage years, because she always wanted to make sure we had food readily available. so now as an adult, I don't like grocery shopping, cooking or doing anything to make/prep food for myself and there's times where I see it as a chore. So yeah I think this episode of WUMs is actually very important. Also I've been watching WUMs since the channel launched and it is insane to see how mature and grown up all the kids are it's insane

Avery has grown so much, I remember her being a toddler! I love seeing how much everyone has grown. Avery and Presley has developed into gorgeous young ladies, and all the boys have become so charming ❤

As a 37yr old mom of two (ages 6 and 2) I am finding so many gems on these kinds of videos.

The sports equipment packing video was so helpful, and because of it my daughter is more responsible for her stuff for each activity. Please keep making these videos for newer parents like myself who need all the help we can get!!!

At some point, can you do a video about phones, screen time, social media use for children. Maybe provide information about how to deal with different families' access or rules regarding phones. My friend has a grade 5 child whose friends record tik toks with their parent's permission (and supervision). It would be helpful to see how different families involve children in the decision making process for using a phone, apps, etc.

This is how it works in my family:
My parents invite us to the store if we want to go, if not we are required to make a list of snacks and foods that we want so that we have things we want in our house. Then when breakfast comes around there is y’all cereal for my brother and bagels or bread for toast as well as eggs for me.

Then, when we were young, my dad would make our sandwich and cut our apple slices for us while we would pick our snacks from the snack cabinet. Since 4th grade though, we’ve been able to make our breakfast and lunch completely on our own for school.

My brother and I usually wake our dad up around 7:45 with his coffee and then we leave for school by 8

Back to school meal hack: make the kids do it, themselves! Love this! We are working on this, as well. My oldest two are 12 and 9. It seems like more work to make them do it themselves but it teaches them independence.

Love that Brooks is grabbing precut fruit for $4-5 and the entire island is full of food and yet somehow the total was $101 😂😂😂

This is so cool 😀 I wish they had amazon fresh stores in central California . I’m a farmers wife and I would love to do all my grocery shopping at an Amazon fresh store!

I love teaching our kids where our food comes from before it makes it to the grocery store. So cool that the carts have their own scanners 🤩 that would make shopping so much more fun for the kids and get them involved

My family always had a seperate cupboard for school snacks so it was easy to grab. We had to have a main (leftovers, sandwich etc) at least 1 fruit, a drink and no more than 1 of each kind of snack (granola bar, fruit snack, pudding etc). Also if the kids cant wait until they get home to get a snack keep some non-perishable snacks in your car and just refill every week

My parents have always had us prepare our own breakfasts, there isn't a time I remember (outside of special occasions) where somebody else made one for me. My mom also had my brother and I making lunches for each other twice a week last summer, and writing grocery lists and going to the store with her. We've also been making suppers for ourselves every Thursday for a few years now (This isn't a responsibility thing, just convenience, but still.). These things have really helped me learn important life skills. It also helped my little brother! He's not very responsible (no offense to my little brother), but he at least knows how to make himself a pot of ramen. We also help put away the groceries every week! I'm so glad my mom did this so I have a jump-start on meal planning and preparation! (And to the note at the end of the video, I've been doing all of my own laundry since I was 12!)
